yeh Thats kinda what I thought, although the peps I have are the ones from the wiki, but I could have sworn someone made a super HD one.

anyone know if there is a higher def version?

If you wouldve read like the last 10 pages, you wouldve known that someone is working on it.
Eventually all the game-accurate versions of the armor will be out, and until then, we just have to hope that whatever it is we want for our builds comes out first

as I said I hate asking obvious questions, and I have read a fair portion of this thread, but most updates are covered on the first page or so :p so EXXXXXXCCCCCCCUSE me for not reading the last 10 pages.

I am not some 405th noob who has just signed up, so don't treat me like one.....mmmmkk
 
Yeah bro, I'm sorry, the second you asked, many things I could say went through my head, then I looked and saw that not only are you an infantryman, but you have also done an Iron Man build.
 
^ok then happy friends today, anyway has anyone seen the operator helmet that blaah was working on finished yet or that super high def shoulder piece, i forgot who made it but it was intense
 
Sorry for the delay on updates, folks... between crazy work hours and busy-ness, my 8-month old girl's teething, and Reach I haven't had much time to gather all these files and play with the first page.

Just rounded them all up though I doubt I'll get to screenshot and comp them all and edit posts 2 & 3 today. Hopefully sometime this weekend or Monday I should get it updated.

I've got stuff from AceNat, carpathiavh99, fat-hi555, Jico, and MissingSpartan7. Going through Rhinoc's stuff (man you got a lot of models!) and waiting to hear back on a couple of others for permission to post.
 
by any chance is that WMHunters shotgun model?
last i checked that was ridiculously high poly - probly a bit much for pepakura

yeah it is but i emiled him and he gave me the low poly nodel :) so that will be easier
 
Honestly, compared to how accurate and well detailed halo 3's files were; these are quite a bit lacking in quality and accuracy. they look hastily put together before release as a means of getting "firsties". I dont want to sound like a jerk or anything but I am just expressing my concerns.
 
Explanation: The modelers haven't had time to make alot of models, and the ones before release haven't been hastily put together to have "firsties", there was a lack of reference pictures, hence the "lack" of detail you might have perceived or not.

all of the models created for reach are designed by individuals, so they all have different levels of detail
halo 3 is in its 4th year and we also had access to a model extracting tool for it - so as you might be able to figure, we now have super hd models for it.
reach has been out 1.5 months, we have created about 1/3 of all the potential armour. these models were not hastily put together - i know the time and patience required to model something from scratch. generally speaking, 405th creates MORE detailed models than Bungie does. i've done the comparisons for halo 3 and have seen the differences
it takes a lot of effort model a helmet and there are some extremely high quality models that were made leading up to reach and afterwards.

you may be new, but if you plan on making your own armour you will find that detail is not always in the pepakura files and is quite often added in later with tools such as dremels. so please respect the modellers and the time and effort they put into their creations which then benefit the whole community.

sorry for upsetting anyone. I am new to this place and I dont know much about...well...any of this stuff really! I just really want to make reach stuff and its just to hard to do the way I have been doing it (hand making out of cardboard and hot glue by only reference pictures). And dont get me wrong, I have had a lot of experience with cardboard and I am no "noob" to it. But its time to face facts, Im starting to get rusty.

I have been craving to start making armor the way the pros do on this website, but I just havent seen any point so far with the current files. But like i said, i am not trying to make anyone mad.

Thank you for addressing my concern and I look forward to the mastered files that I am certain this site can produce.

i sincerely apologise for that, because the file had no name on it or in it i didn't know who to credit for creating the file
i knew i had seen the file some where but couldn't remember where and was working offline at the time i was writing up the post and making the images, so i couldn't go and check who's it was.

will you accept this apology and this pep file?

the UA CQ is modelled to fit the h3 cqb but should fit most helmets
glad we cool now

hope to see someone build some of the attachments soon

If only the new unfolders added information about who created the model and not name it after themselves, none of these would have happened. They should let others know who did the model, who unfolded it and where the file came from, just like what Adam implored us to do before.

I hope a valuable lesson has been learned here.

there's a tacpad pep file on page 1, i don't actually know which gauntlet it attaches to though...
the UA/TACPAD will be released when i finish unfolding it (cos i never release my own models 'till i unfold them myself. if someone re-unfolds one then i don't really care)
