Got this from http://www.william-shakespeare.info

Will lived for 52 years as his biography confirms. In just 23 years, between approximately 1590 and 1613, he is attributed with writing 38 plays, Famous Shakespearean sonnets and 5 other poems.

I'm SURE there are masterworks he started that took forever and some that he didn't actually get to finish. My question is, in this forum, where projects sometimes take months to see complete. Is it preferable to the viewers/readers of the 405th to have a thread started that features a stream of pictures showing steady, albeit slow, progress pics? Or would you rather have a quick "Bam! there ya go! Take-a-gander-at-this-thing." type of thread?

Personally I LIKE VERY MUCH a thread full of pics. Especially if the project is an epic one. I like watching the genesis of these things. I like details from materials used to where the reference pics were aqcuaired. No detail is too small. The flipside to my enthusiasm with this type of thread is seeing a project stall due to lack of funds and or time. It's especially heartbreaking when I see a project/thread abandoned. ALL THAT HARD WORK for nothing.

As you can see in my sig I have two things on th back burner that I'm trying to get back on track and I feel I've let subscribers down when I can't update with any meaningful progress.

I read a post referring to a bunch of WIPS choking up the 405th forum and I bowed my head in shame...I could swear he was talking about me :-0.

Maybe I should have made this into a poll so people could answer anonymously.
What do you think?

p.s. On a side note is posting updates on a wip thats been dormant for months considered necro-ing?

Personally, I would prefer the whole process over pictures of just the result, mostly to learn from it. I often find it inspiring what people do, what tools they use, where they work.

I also don't think anybody would mind you continuing your old, dusty projects :)

Honestly? I checked out the links in your sig, and you really are a very skilled craftsman, regardless of your post count, or the threads you use to display your work. Throw up as many pictures as you like, people love seeing good progress, agonizing details included.

If you're worried about what other people think? Make your work the best you can. Bad threads get noticed around here, but so do the awesome ones. Just keep up the good work, and you'll be fine. :)

Quite frankly, I go through WIP threads just to see pictures of how someone is doing something. I skip over the comments and go strait for the pictures. Which also why I avoid posting in a WIP threads. I want to see pictures, not comments.
