Trip's First Attempt At making Mark VI Armor

did some more detail to the helmet.

got one shine & thigh.

finally got off my butt & got some work done on my armor.
I rondoed one of my biceps & both forearms. & then primmered & painted.

& im gunna have to scrap my leg peices cause im not 7 ft tall & cant wear them,

I got it off ebay for 60ish 70ish i believe? i'll check when i get home, out of town at the moment. I havnt test fitted it with the armor yet to see how it's gunna work out.

Your scaling on those arm pieces looks pretty much perfect, nice job! I noticed in a few of your pictures, do you have a Honda CRX? =favorite car
Either that or it's a civic from about 1990... But back on topic now, the color you picked for Chief Green is really exact to what it is in-game.

Well It is my sec attemp on the foremars the first was Huge!!! lol
& yea its a 88 turboed crx, but i allso have a 02 wrx & a 92 civic hatch, I have to many hobbies.

no the top of it is fine but the brim of it is a lil warped, I wish i would've of done a diff one.
I might make A diff one later.

well finished my right bicep & added some more detail to the torso.
So now i have the whole top portion of the armor finished besides the hand plates.

So i decided to try it on.

i still have to add padding & Straps.
Bad news is i dont think the under armor is going to work.

BACK FROM THE DEAD!
Its been a really long time since ive updated this. just been busy with other things.
The release of halo CE this fall has got me motivated to get this done! well i finished both shins & thighs.
re Made my cod piece for a HD virsion.

Doing some painting & repainting.

I had to re rondo one of my thighs cause it wasnt very stiff. its drying now.
allso just resined my cod & some of my boot.

its all coming together.

After i get everything finished i will redo the forarms & chest. so it will match the rest of the hd pieces but it will do for now.
What size forarms do you think i need? the last hd ones i made ended up being way way to big.
im 5'7 150 lbs

Well if you really want good predictions with your scaling I would get a hold of some measuring tape and measure to your shoulder to above your elbow and whatever that is in cm or mm is what your height for said bicep needs to be around. I've used this method and scaling pretty much was dead on.

^i tryed that with my last ones & they seemed huge still.

Well i started detailing my thighs & shins. makes them stand out alot better.

Test fit #2
I finished my cod but i still have to chop it in two & shorten it a tad bit.
Nothing is strapped or padded yet so it looks a lil awkward but its all coming together.

I still have to redo my forarms & make another boot & hand plates, but im out of ink & walmart doesnt carry my ink anymore =(

im about 95% done.
there is a few lil things i gotta treak & fix but for the most part i think it fits pretty good. not as hard to move in as i thought it was going to be.

This looks VERY good! I think you did an excellent job with this set! Love how you put together that undersuit, too. Um...I don't want you to take this the wrong way or anything, 'cause...well, I agree with the codpiece being too large. Compared to the rest of the armour, it really stands out. Or it needs to sit up much higher on your waist. You could try cutting it down then reattaching it if it's too big back-to-front, too.

Anyway other than the codpiece standing out in size, I like it. It's a trés magnificent ensemble.

I meant to mention that, the space between the cod & the chest is way to big. im gunna try & pull it up. & after the pics i did trim it a lil bit.
I got a con this weekend so i gotta fix all the lil things.
