lizander: As I stated, all the good reviews are made by people who aren't able to get a good sniper, or they play in their backyard, or they have a low budget, or sorry for steriotyping, they are younger.

Anonymous: Ultimately, the best thing to do is to get a Marui VSR or Maruzen L96 and upgrade the hell out of it.

Spartan117x is your EBR a tm with an upgrade kit or the star ebr, because I would like to get an EBR.

thanks for any replies

Mines the marui m14 with TGS/Trigger happy EBR Kit.

Sadly its stock as I've run out of money for airsoft for awhile so it's not on my priority list to upgrade.

Don't get the star EBR as besides the fact that its ugly, there are no spare parts for it and its star so its probably prone to break. (Even though I love my sniper)

And of course, don't get the Kart unless you're on a low budget, because that supposedly breaks down a lot. [understandable]

EBRs can be a lot of money, a good way to go is to buy it used, they come up rarely on arnies-airsoft. Thats how I got my EBR kit, the m14 I bought new.

wow spartan 117x, you must be getting tired of saying :"Lizander, the reviews are by people with no money, (like you)"
ok so I reiterated a bit, but I know thats what ur thinking.

any ways, because after all those questions, I find out that the gun I finally picked out can't be shipped to canada, I have picked a new gun on a different site. Buyairsoft.ca. a few of my friends have bought guns from there, so I think I'll give it a go. I picked this gun: http://buyairsoft.ca/catalog/product_info....products_id=289

I know its only 195$, but thats about all I really want to spend. being fully automatic, and shooting 370 feet per second, I think it would be pretty fun to use in a backyard battle, or even in a bush/ forest. the only thing is that I might have to buy a new battery. I'm going to look around winnipeg: at sir/ cabellas for a cheaper battery incase the battery that comes with the gun is crap, like mentioned on the site, so then if the battery dies, I can run and get a new battery quickly. do you think it is a good gun? do you kow if it shoots fairly straight? thanks. also if you know of any quality canadian airsoft retailers with websites, let me know. thanks everyone!! (especially spartan 117x)

I do not reccomend getting that AK, I've never heard of the brand, and I looked at the site and it seems like they're trying to rip you off some.

For that price, try to look for Echo1/JG and if you can't get those, try UTG. I don't have the time to locate the gun on the site but hopefully those sites will help.

Well as stated, I've never seen that gun before and I personally wouldn't trust it, especially for 180$. I'm trying to do some searching for you when I get the chance but I don't have all the time. Just remember what I said, look for a name brand. Try to find UTG/Echo1/JG. That will be the best gun for the price. And you won't be taking any risks as you should know what to expect.

http://www.shootsoft.ca/clearsoft/index.ph...nufacturers_id= That has some guns --and I see why all those guns are so expensive, Canada has crazy prices!

thanks alot, I didn't expect you to look for me, but based on you involvment on this thread I can see that you were serious when you said you would help anyone, because I am sure I have been quite the nusance. Thanks alot, I'll look around for UTG and echo 1 right now. thanks again. and you are completely right canada has crazy prices (do you mean expensive, or cheap?? I think they are way over priced, but maybe not if they are quality guns.) sorry I didn't really compare the two guns, and I didn't realize that they were the same, but from different sites

here's an ak 47, I'm pretty sure the gun is made by Kraken, it shoots 300 fps with .12's, which is the weight my friends use, so I would consider it, unless I find something better. I'm going to be going to Cabella's soon so I'll look there too.

http://sirmailorder.com/

if you want to see it, you'll have to scroll down and click on soft air guns, then click on soft airguns. It's the 11nth one down.

I've kind of given up on finding a utg sniper in Canada so I'm going to cabella's this afternoon to see what they have, a few of my friends have gone and looked already, and they say cabellas have pretty good guns. I just lookin though, I waqnt to have an idea what guns are local to me. I'm looking for an AEG with good power and rate of fire.

EDIT: I've kind of given up all hope of finding an aeg that will suit my tastes and be affordable for me (a 14 year old with no steady job) so I'll just buy a Co2 pistol, and maby change my brothers spring mp5 into an automatic gun, by buying a gearbox, and modifying it. I'll look around for some parts. Thanks for all your help, but I really don't think I need to spend over 200$ on gun that may be good, but that I wont use at all. Thanks for giving me all that advice etc... and spending so much time with me. If you have any advice on modding the mp5 let me know.

I'm running a TM P90 TR with a 6.02mm barrel, a 120 spring, an upgraded battery ( I think its a 1500ma, but dont quote me on it), and a systema piston. Originally, I had the first factory box mag on it, but since I'm a leftie, it became a pain in the butt to use, and I took it off. I still have it though, if anyones looking to pick one up, PM me.
Basically, I can draw blood at 10 feet, and I can dent sheet metal at 30ft. I can hit a can off a fence at approximately 40 yards. Who needs a sniper rifle? everyone gets so worked up over sniper rifles, but it does you no good in CQB. I've built my airsoft to hit like a sniper rifle, but I have the maneuverability of an MP5SD6. All I did was run a longer barrel through my silencer. Viola. Longer barrel than an m4 variant, and still usable in a close quarters fight.

I don't play anymore, which is a shame. I still have the p90, and I've thought about selling it, but I think I'm going to use it as a base, along with a nerf longshot (not my image, just a good looking repaint) to build a spartan laser.

I didn't read the entire thread, so I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned these: airsoft paintballs
I have used them pretty extensively, and aside from a few barrel fouls ( i am running a tighter barrel) I've had no problems. And when I say a few, I mean roughly 3 or 4 jams over 5 to 6k rounds shot. I used to play against paintballers, till they told me that my accuracy was unfair. wussies.

airsoftatlanta.com - Decent prices and fast shipping. I've picked up a few guns from them, mainly cheapies to use as backups and loaners. They have a decent amount of high quality guns and both external and internal upgrades, and its better than waiting on redwolfairsoft to ship it half way around the globe. I know, I ordered my AEG from RW. It took 3 1/2 weeks to get here.

lizander, I'll talk to you about this later, as usual, I'm off and won't be able to respond until 2am. So expect another update in a few hours. and I was talking about Canada being expensive.

Humungotron, how much would you be willing to sell that p90 for ;) pics? lol. price?

I haven't been airsofting in a while, but my arsenal consists of an upgraded TM FA-MAS, upgraded JLS SCAR with paintjob, a JG IKA-ZUCHI, and I have a JG M-16 which I'm heavily modifying.

Okay Lizander, don't give up yet, I'll let you give up once you have sent an e-mail to some US retailers asking if they would ship to Canada. The worst they can say is no. From what you're telling me you are only playing in the backyard with some friends, and you might not use it that much. Maybe your best bet is to go for a Crossman AEG. Although it is cheap, well. It's cheap. It's a pro and a con in one. It seems like that would be suitable to what you are planning to do with it. But like I said, try asking some US retailers if they would ship it to you.

Deep Winter, I have a Classic Army Sl8- Sadly, once I get the gearbox back together, I'm probably going to be selling it. [For 260 dollars to start, which is 40 dollars below a new priced one.] If you're looking for a FA-MAS, the best one [even though its not the best stock, sorry ender :p] is the Tokyo Marui one.

Ender, awesome collection, and I am intrigued to see what you do with your m16, that's crazy! Show us more when you update it. What are you using by the way?

Its not the problem of Us retailers shipping the gun to me, it's whether the Canadian Border Police will let it through the border. I have already sent a well written email asking if they woould let the airsoft guns I was looking at accross, and they pretty much said "No promises". I would rather keep my 200$ for something elsethan have it lost by buying my gun to find out It can't come across the border. The good news is that I went to an airsofting party last night, and my friend bought an AK 47 from Cabellas. It shoots 375fps with .2 gram bb's, is semi and fully automatic, is very accurate (he pelted me with at least 10 bb's in a row from about 50-60 feet. It also has a good rate of fire and is almost completely metal the only plastic part is some of the casing, and the stock. the gearbox is all metal as well. Its really heavy too. Heavey means durable (in most cases.) I'm going to buy it today.

EDIT: I bought it!!! YAY!!!!! if anything breaks, I can buy Tokyo Muari parts, since my gun is a clone of it. I can upgrade it too!! I'll post pictures soon.

For those of you in hotter, more humid climates( like Florida) you have probably noticed that not even thermal lenses will hold off fog for very long. Most folks go with shooting glasses, but alot of the bigger game hosting companies are moving toward "fully sealing eyewear only" for the sake of insurance, especially in the southeast US. Up until a few weeks ago the only thing I found that was effective was ESS turbofans, or a JT mask with its own turbofan, neither of which is budget friendly.

I picked up one of these (below) and installed it in my ESS Stalkers and have not had any issues, even at the AI:500 in blazing hot Starke Fl on Camp Blanding's MOUT site. And for $25, they just can't be beat.

A lot of people I noticed have started threads asking what gun is best, so why not just make one simple thread.

But also post pictures of your collection and whatever. Just trying to compress all the airsoft related stuff into one thread.

Thats actually great info, I've noticed as well that the ESS turbofans are the "best" but I haven't even thought about buying them yet because of their price.

I might try making it but if not, that's definitely where I'm going, specially because it is budget friendly.

Thanks!

And Lizander, congratulations finally! would love to see pictures.

And heavier doesn't always mean more durable XD. My Classic Army gearbox on my m4 is broken. :(

Spartan26, Hollywood is right, and mines Classic Army.
