It looks awesome all put together! It really flows well and works great. Even with some things still left to tweek it's impressive.

Vinyl Work:
ok just got a small update, all the small tedious additions to the suit
have a roll of black vinyl cloth that i picked up from walmart
works really well for the small undersuit pieces or the additions around the armor pieces
i used it to line the armpit area inside of the bicep pieces
also using the same thing to construct my undersuit layers
its quick and really easy to tack together..im thinking maybe after i finish the basic setup ill go over it with a rubber spray coating
not sure how itll affect the material first so if i decide to do it ill just do a test piece first, or i may just leave it as it is
doesnt look too bad when added on the suit
ill be attaching these pieces with velco to the undersuit material ill be wearing
i know i mentioned that i had found a quick and easy way to mount on the shoulder pieces here's how i did it
keeps it light with adding hardly any weight and keeps the pads flexible and mobile if theyre pushed against a wall or hitting something if im moving around through the crowds or what not, just used some wire hangers as...well..hangers lol
just folded them in half and clipped them and they make great supports
after a few marking and bending with plyers i got them to fit flush to the inside of the shoulder pieces and used JB weld on the base parts of the wiring, the holding it down with duct tape..and yes its purple..lol all i had haha
adding the JB weld to the base parts of the wires
i added the tape down over the JB to spread it flush around the wire pieces
here's them fit in, works really well, it elevates the pieces just right off of the bicep pieces and makes them pliable if theyre pushed on
this is taken looking underneath just so you can see the wire slid in between my foam padding and the bicep piece
this is straight on from the side, the wire hanger isnt noticeable at all, worked out really well
but thats really all i have for now, running the straps inside the thigh pieces to hook onto my belt and keep suspended on the legs
ill hopefully have lights installed into the belt and have wire disconnects between the shin/thighs/belt and run them all off the same power source, still tryin to work on what will work best, but so far thats what the plan is, ill cross that bridge when i get to it

no internet guys. Don't have 3g down here so it's taken me literally half an hour to get this to load up on my phone, i.ve been doing alot of cosmetic work, undersuit, helmet attachment[UA] piece, installing the led strips in the thighs, and the neck protector and spine scales. I can't upload picks without pb so hopefully we'll have our internet line fixed outside by next week.. I guess i'll be taking my suit on the plane for dcon on thursday a much as i don't want to.. Hope everyones builds are going great. I'm havin withdrawals from the 405th and its only been a day lol

soooooooooooo as i've posted before our phone line had been cut by accident just workin on the yard runnin new lines to the new house and whatnot

fixed up the lower dual layer faceshield plate on my JFO and its completely solid blue without the wrinkles and everything it looks so much better!!!
i know i was just trying to get this together for Dcon but now im finding myself perfecting everything that i can in the timeframe left
heres a look at the visor now
also with the helmet ive made the detachable Helm[UA] attachment with highbright LEDs.
i had to take a side shot because the LED's were dropping out all the focus on my phone cam
before i finished that piece up though i cut out and set in the Blue LED strips in the thigh pieces
again with the blue LED rocker switch that fit conveniently in the center of the thigh bridge for easy switch on/off
here's the laid in LED strips, still not completely happy with it i was to find some crossing grid wire to spray chrome and set inside the strip areas just as a lens type filter
along with all that i was tired of seeing my neck with the helmet on...so i fixed myself up a breathable velcro-back neck piece
heres the flattened out view
and heres it with the velcro shut for the neck, it fits great and cover all of my skin/hairline
mentioning the velcro..i ALSO finished up the straps on the thigh pieces to hook them onto my belt, same style as my blackhawk serpa leg holster works just not as efficient..lol
but it loops around my belt and velcros down
i used adhesive velrco strips with the 1" nylon strapping ..now..as with other projects ive done this for its just so much easier to PLACE adhesice strips to stay in place but they do not always stay on clothing/clothe, so i always sew it into the strapping or whatever material im wanting to attach it to.
now ive had so many issues with the thread constantly pulling in the glue from the adhesive and makes it impossible to keep a constant sew action going...so as i was cooking AND working on my project..i thought hey what the hell, ill throw some olive oil on the thread not completely thinking it would work..lol buuuuuuuttt it did..solid sailing the whole way through, the thread never caught any glue and made the sewing part so much easier, now my straps are done to keep my thigh pieces suspended
also...hahah told you it was quite an update.. i fixed on the elastic velcro straps onto my knee guards, only thing i need to do is set some soft foam in the backside to contour to my knee when im wearing them
now the last bit of my update..lol
i had to make a spacer on my chest piece, since its just a tad bit small for me and didnt have time to make a WHOLE new one..i will later on but for now i think it actually looks good with how compact it is, its not overly bulky like alot of the spartans tend to look like
i used pieces of a black $2 plunger for a hose type looking effect
cut them in half and used the black vinyl that im using for my undersuit as a connector by velcro, so its pliable so it can move freely, its disconnectable from both sides incase someone smaller wants to wear it, and keeps strong from being pulled on
dremeled out some inlets to sew the pieces against the plastic
after i set them in with the velcro i was thinking about the on and off capabilities so the opposite end i used those buckle clips to attach them together

WELL NOW...lol it sucked not being able to get on the forums so yes this update is alot crammed into on post but its something to look at eh..??
been workin like crazy on all this, 4 more days till the flight out..cant wait

the blue suit still hasnt come in so i dont think she'll be dressing as cortana with me..unless it comes in tomorrow then i can paint all night it may be a half day made cortana suit..but thats IF it comes in tomorrow, shes bummed out bout it and i feel bad that she wanted to come and dress up and now shes comin and not having anything to wear...but we'll see
if you know anything about some kinda rally point where everyones meetin up friday let me know, my flight doesnt get in until 7:30 so i may not be able to get my registration done, i have my card they sent me but from what i know you have to take it to registration to get your dcon pass..?? still unsure about all of it..never been to one of these things

tomorrow im packing up the suit for dcon and getting ready for me 4pm flight out of San Antonio

its a really quick build, REALLY quick..
for a rush job though i think it came out fairly well
thing is...i just realized..I HAVE NO BOOT PIECES..lol
and tomorrow is packing day im really hoping that no ones lookin at ma feet
i cant pep and glass/paint the boot pieces theres just simply no time to do so.. it would be mad for me to do such a thing in such short a time as tomorrow, so im sorry guys but this project will be only95% complete..lol
i WILL be posting up the final product pics tomorrow for everyones enjoyement
im super excited for this trip..again.. anyone in the 405th thats goin got some point to meet up at friday morning..??

Fast Boots:
If you have a hot glue gun, skip the pep and glue thick cardboard pieces to your old hiking boots or shoes, resin bondo, and paint the cardboard. Make two assemblies per boot, one that goes from the heel up over the front of the anke, and a toe piece. Just paint the boots black in between. Sorry there aren't better pictures of how I did it on my cardboard armor (no resin available of deployment), but you can see the boots in one of the first few pics. Quick and dirty, you can have boots that won't be perfect, but won't draw the eye to them. Unless the blue suit comes in . . . .

I think the blue suit is for the Cortana costume he was going to make for his girlfriend. So the blue suit doesn't have anything to do with his build.
But I also think that's a great idea for a quick fix, I'll have to keep that in mind.

always comin in as a savior, maybe i can throw some together tonight, im just still scrambling on touches to the rest of my suit and making the sure the electrical is all good, i finished my shake and bake undersuit last night, ill have pics up a bit later so you guys can check it outand yes she's right, the blue suit is for my girl we had ordered 3 weeks ago and still never came in..the ppl from where she ordered it was being really dumb about the whole thing, the first one they'd sent when we did exact measurements was way wrong, so i ordered her just a set size then they said they ran out of material...>.< wth..
so i think i may drive 2 1/2 hours today to San Antonio to find a lab coat for her..
thats really the only thing i can think of right now on any of it i feel really bad that she more than likely wont be able to dress up, i cant exactly throw together another spartan suit in 20 hours

Makes more sense. >< I wasn't exactly firing on all cylinders this morning. Only 4 hours of sleep does that to me, and since school started, that's about all I've been functioning on all week. Oh well. It's gonna be worth it when I don't have anything to worry about this weekend.
