Most of you guys don't know me, so I'm just going to introduce myself as Dustyn. You may also call me Pale. I've been an artist all my life, slowly growing my drawing abilities. I was first brought to the 405th to create my own spartan and be done, however in the light of fairly recent events I wish to share my creations with rest of this community. I do occasionally post on the 405ths Facebook page so if you wish to see some of my older works check them out.

Now that we're done with the formalities, time to get to the meat and potatoes. This thread is designed for people like myself who wish to share their weapon designs (whether it be Human/Covenant/Banished/Forerunner). As an artist I request that everyone respects each others works and put forth positive criticism. I wish everyone well, and I hope to see some of your creations soon. I'll post some of mine tonight.

Now if you enjoy the competitive side of the halo franchise you’ll know exactly who these guys are and the staple they represent. This was an absolute pleasure to make and I even made a prop adaptation of the second BR. I’m going to make a video on this teams greatest plays and moments throughout the years. Here is some current WIPs I have in my files. Yes that is an Instinct Battle Rifle. I’ll be sure to share the finished products. Anyways I hope this thread grows. I can’t wait to see everyone else’s creations. Take er’ away fellas!

This big guy is very ”shooter“ inspired as you can tell by the carrying handle that goes over the scope and the cartridge holder on the stock. The objective of this gun is to give the shooter the ability to apply it to long range situations. It’s a bit off-grid for now because it has not fully met the standards of military snipers in the UNSCs ranks. So you’ll be seeing a more updated version soon.

And by soon, I mean tonight. Gotta say the less blocky look in the middle suits its style. Not to brag. I had to think the appearance of the second one through, making it more halo modern. I’m looking for someone to print me the second one with some mild functionality (bolt action, shell ejection, some fake rounds to put in, maybe a little touch on the stocks folding, cheek pad, and adjustable butt.) If they can go balls to the wall, I’d be pumped. If ya’ll have any sources, run them by my doorstep.

Just in cas people wanted to see the Final Boss MLG BR I made a while back. It was a achievement to say the least, I wanted to really put forth some great effort. I learned some new things about painting, and used some new tools as well. My only beef if that the scope looks Janky as hell. Hahaha. I’d love to see some of your guys’ work. Don’t be shy.

Now that we’re are finally rolling up on the weekend, I feel that I need to share something. I called my uncle yesterday, and we we’re talking about my recent activities within the prop making community of the 405th. We chatted about my new and upcoming projects, and he reminded me that I should try to make more of my weapons/armor “my design”. That to me is very inspiring, and that’s what I want to talk about. Now I mean no offense to other cosplayers or designers like me, but I am putting this up here to inspire others. I check out the 405th FB page and I see a lot of the same stuff over the course of scrolling, ODST, Spartan, Weapons some Elites, and occasionally a flood combat form or grunt nearby. There is tons of variety already in terms of what everyone is doing, but I feel the 405th is just barely scratching the surface of what is possible. Imagination can bring birth a lot of cool stuff, and over the past couple of years the templates/designs I’ve been making have proven, that there is a lot that can done to this armor sets and weapons. Right now I’m making a ground up LMG (one with no known halo aesthetic, attachments, and is totally new) which I’ll be sharing fairly soon. I feel like making your own stuff is awesome, because it provides you an identity, which separates you from everyone else. Make a something nobody has seen yet, because the reward in the long run will keep you on the path of variety. Anyways have a wonderful weekend everyone, I’ll check back in on monday.

I like seeing your own designs, you got some great imagination, keep it up! I'm wanting to do more (non-halo related) original designs, especially wasteland style, because with original designs you have more freedom and can show off your talents, or try something new. I might get on to some, if I don't get any commissions when I open up.

PlanetAlexander I can agree with you so much on that man. I feel it is very important and rewarding if you express your identity, because it sets you apart from the other cosplayers. I was personally thinking about making my own take on the series of attachments we’ve seen in the halo universe and building my own guns (stuff that hasn’t been seen yet.) There is no limit to imagination, as long as it is practical in weaponry. Like for example, the earliest version of the Eagle AMSRS was magazine fed in the back along with the bolt, and just looking at it made me realize how painful it would be to operate with, and that’s why I made it single shot bolt in the front, I also had to kinda simulate the bolts travel too as funny as that sounds so it’ll somewhat be realistic. If you have some designs, share em’ here. I love to see what people have to offer.

Well, isn’t that something?! just started using the app today and began modeling the Eagle. i’ll share the models on here if I can.

Its called Shapr3D, I found it a year ago on my iPad mini and had no way to use it at the time. Yesterday I got it back on my iPad Pro and got an annual membership to save my stuff. It requires an apple pen to use, and might I just add it is very user friendly. I can’t wait to see what else I can make.

I’m so impressed by how well this is coming together. The amount of detail you can put in is just wild. I can’t wait to have this thing built. Seriously it almost brings a literal tear to my eye.
