Sorry if I wasn't on for a while, I had school work... So... I didn't make any new props, but instead Improved the armor I made... who knew electric tape worked so well on armor without lights? I I made it more comfortable and yeah... I have nothing new...sorry...
So, life's been busy, schedule full, depression's rampant, etc. I been trying to get back to costuming, it's been a while... Hope y'all feel way better than me I'm going to remake my chest plate armor using foam now gonna put up updates and also work on my mental health
Alright, so this is what I did when I had time-
I painted the helmet and shins with varnish, it took a few layers but it actually made it look really cool... (I honestly didn't expect it to look like this) it covered the fiberglass since it wasn't really that good (I didn't do rondo)Here's the armor now compared to my arm piece, which is unvarnished...
I also made a new bodysuit, rather than use the old one
(Shhhh it's not completely like a Halo bodysuit because I eyed the size wrong and had to add extra pieces) ATTACH=full]254673[/ATTACH]
Update: finished right commando shoulder and forearm
here it is close up
a bit hard to see with my camera, but the left shoulder has a way crustier and gross look, while the gloss on the right one gives off a deeper and stronger feel to the armor
Does anyone have any advice for weathering? I'm was using toothpaste and grease, and I was wondering if there's an easier way. I'm not trying to use paint markers to weather, does anyone know how to weather with those? (also insights for foam and fiberglass weathering would be nice)
I'm trying to make a more aesthetic look rather than a realistic war-torn look. (e.g. as in colors that pop in your face, paint scrapes in cool places etc)
vs
(the shoulder piece has a more worn out look than the helmet, I'm trying to add the helmet weathering process on the shoulder piece so I have to repaint it)
