All right, so I finished the first shin using the files as is, but the pieces aren't perfectly symmetrical, so it caused some problems. I'm going to print the rest of the pieces and assemble the next shin as originally intended. Hopefully, that'll make things easier for the left leg. Also, hopefully my hot glue work gets better with practice, because it sucks as it is. :p

that EVA foam placement....you must be good at Tetris!

You did a great job putting all of those pieces on a single sheet of EVA foam.

Thanks! All I did was lay the pieces out similar to how they're assembled. I kept it tight to minimize waste. In some cases, that can cause a problem, because certain edges need to be beveled out instead of in, but I got it to work better the second time around.

--Update--

Found these bad boys at Home Depot. Husky heavy duty mechanics gloves. They're comfortable, durable, and they've got the armored knuckles and the futuristic hex-pattern look I was going for.

"And remember kids, even Spartans choose Husky."

Anyway, I'm still cracking away at the foam legs. I've decided that my first try was more of a guinea pig. I won't be wearing it. My second try is coming out loads better, and will require far less finishing work pre-painting. I'll put up some pictures once I've got a presentable pair. :D
