I used to order Lucky burger, super greasy, but I LOVED their fries! I want to make it down to the LES more. I worked on W57th, so getting down there SUCKED! I've only gone to Toy Tokyo... UGH! There was another Ramen place I passed that was in Between 8+9th street on first Ave... can't remember the name. I've been wanting to try fresh Ramen FOREVER! i gotta check out the spot ya showed me :D

Did you buy your A.R. at Compleat Sculptor too?

Hey SKG, I'm going to NY at the end of the month - beginning of august.

We is located the store you are talking about, like the one selling A.R?

Hey Spartan :)

go to: sculpt.com

The store is located on Vandam and Varick Street in the West Village of NYC :) It's not too hard to get to by train, just be sure to pack it in your suit case and check the A.R. (if you're flying)

Ah hahahah. I think that may be the only store that sells it in Manhattan.

Also check the Aqua Resin site to look at the retail list :)

Yeah but they sell Smooth-on starter kit, so I'll get this :)

And it's also the only place I know in the whole NY xD (Maybe except Ground Zero and the Statue of liberty ^^)

i suggest calling ahead of time. because they run out of this stuff pretty fast. they have their phone number on the site
SKG posted.

yea i know necro post. but i do have updates. and i fiured i better kep posting progress here instead of making a progres thread. keep all the aqua resin stuff in one place ya know. anyway heres a bunch of pics of what ive done so far.

ive learned alot about aqua resin from fiberglassing all this stuff. like you shouldnt put too much of it on too thickly
or youll be sanding for hours. and it warps things like crazy even with that clear coat on your pieces. and wear the proper safety equipment! a dust mask when sanding, mixing and near fiberglass! this stuff is bad for lungs....

you should make your own progress thread, that way we can see it all clearer. just saying.....y'know?

anyway, nice work with the aqua resin. I was wondering, what does it smell like? like is it strong and chemical-y like the polyester resin we use? again, just wondering, im not gonna start using it, i got a pretty good deal on my resin at walmart- 10 bucks a can lol, plus i know what to do now.

i was considering making my own progress thread. but theres already so many of them out there. and i had already gotten so far on my armor i thought it would be pointless to open one. but if enough people think i should. then i gladly will.
it doesnt smell strong at all. its kinda lie paper mache that smell. you dont need a respirator just a dust mask so you dont breathe in the powder form.

Good job! a little more sanding and some detailing and it'll be perfect!

thanks! yea this is mostly in the rough stage. some of the pieces havent even been touched by sand paper. the ones that
are painted green have and some others.

it's not too late to make a progress thread, just make one, its pretty simple. go ahead! its not like its spam.

and i know that paper mache smell, ugh. not as good as my nice thick polyester resin though :D

alright when i get more progress ill start one. no use in posting this info again.
yea the smell isnt that bad. i dont really notice it any more, unless i sniff the armor (which i dont do)

I live in PA and im about a 10 minute drive to the closest store that sells aqua resin.... :D
I tried making a suit out of cardstock, papertape and paint. i won 20 dollars in a contest but it fell apart as soon as i got home. aqua resin will probalby be better cause im what you would call a very very very inexpierenced armor maker

yea the shipping is high due to the weight. but its so worth it! oh and remember to wear a dust mask (for the dust, and the fibers) and a respirator when you sand it.
