ha ha! i jsut got back from NY like an hour and a half ago  thats so weird! i couldnt get the aqua resin though because i was celebrating my B-day with my sister
some random person sat next to me on the bus home....i wonder if it was you.....thatd be so funny if it was!

Well, I didn't ride any bus while I was there, couldn't have been me. Though, that would have been weird. I almost thought I'd run into SCG, or anyone from here, at the Sculptor store looking for this stuff. I think I got the last trial kit they had up though. May have been more in the back, but they were out of powder at least for what was on the shelves.

@ Mags: What day(s) were ya in Manhattan? I woulda have bumped into you and showed ya some nice spots. Yeah, hahaha I had to get used to the walking when I moved here. I walked about 2 miles a day at the least, when I first started though it was hard on my body XD Aw what BS happened? And yes culture shock indeed.

@Rach: hahahah nah I wasn't in Manhattan that much this weekend. I stopped by the Apple store with some friends and went to Rockefeller to eat lunch, then I had to head off to Jersey for a party XD I don't ride the buses, I mainly walk or do the Subway.

@ Mags: Yeah, TCS is always out of A.R. What is out is what they have. I have to call today to see if they have the 4lb buckets of the powder, though when/if I get some extra $$ I may just buy the Gigantor tub... I hope I can carry it XD

I can't remember if I said anything in the therad, my helmet is on hold until Spring time, as I don't want to sand in my apt, dust in/on my computers and on my Cintiq is bad. And yeah I cover my shiz, I just can't afford a ton of new equipment XD But I am working on my torso and it's about 60% done now :)

yea i just went into manhattan cause my sister was lookig for dried bamboo (dont ask) and we found this really cool place called like pearl river or something like that, but its a huge like oriental cool store, i dont know if anyone needs katanas for any costume, but they sell them there.
yea i just rode the bus back to jersey, and mostly walking or the subways in NY

I was in Manhattan, for practically the whole trip. I got there on Friday late night, and left midday Sunday. Stayed at the Four Points on West 25th and 7th Ave. It was like 10 blocks from Madison Square Garden/Penn Station. My brother is huge into seeing sites, and he dragged me and my sister all around town. On the Subway, walking, more walking. If you ever kept yourself from going to the bathroom for a long period of time, and your kidneys start hurting from it, that's how my back felt most of the time. I did not wear the right shoes for walking.

We were all over the place. Went to Soho, the village, Brooklyn Bridge on Sunday. I couldn't tell you were I was at besides that as I was just following my brother for most of the time thinking, "When can I sit down?"

That was the part about the BS mostly, when we went into a bar, and you had to wait to be seated? WTH? Apparently, cushion space is a hot commodity in NYC bars.

Plus there were just somethings I guess I was just not use to that pissed me off. I'm from a small town where everyone looks you in the eye, and is friendly. I almost got knocked down on the Brooklyn Bridge by some jackhole jogger. I swore the next guy that did it was going to end up on his butt.

Oh well. It was pretty fun otherwise. Had a group of girls knock on a window and motion for me to come into the bar they were in, it was sort of flattering, but I kept walking...trying to keep up with my brother and sister. All in all, I had fun. I'd like to do it again sometime when I have more time to spend doing what I want to do though. The whole walking in circles thing got old.

PS - I'm refraining from using more...colorful terms when describing all this.

yea i got in late on saturday and stayed in brooklyn with my sister and her boyfriend. i like the city cause i dont have to say hi to everyone. i know that sounds weird, but its nice not to know everyone who passes you by for once.
i didnt get attacked by any angry joggers  and i spent pretty much all of the day following my sister and trying not to get lost in a crowd. cause that might be a problem.
i didnt mind the whole walking thing until today when my back and legs hurt. but it was fun

@ Mags: Yeah they seat ya in bars for safety. Sounds like you only say Soho and some of Downtown, Mid town is Hella fun. Oh yeah cozy walking shoes is a must, and major bummer for not getting a chance to stop and rest your feet. People smash into me a lot too, hahahah though something that is funny, after living here I no longer walk in a straight line hahaha it's all kinds of zig-zagging to avoid getting hit by someone or something. I get more annoyed at jerk offs trying to stop people, they need a fist in the mouth. If ya ever drop into the city I'll show ya some of my favorite spots :D Drop me a PM next time you guys plan a trip. I'll stop and rest too XD

@Rach: Brooklyn is cool Burough, I don't get to it a lot though. Manhattan and Queens are my stomping grounds :D

yea brooklyn is er...interesting...conisdering me and my sister had someone stop and ask us why people would want €to pay $600 for pictures of linsey lohan and J lo because j lo was his cousin and he was friends with linsey..... : / and on canal street, atleast 50 people wanted to sell me DVDs.
i like manhattan subways, too bad my sis doesnt live there, but its too expensive for a starving art student :D

sorry for the double post, but i found out im getting aqua resin for my birthday! well i know its after my birthday but still!

That's awesome Rachiav :D It'll be nice to see someone else test this stuff. I dunno if nayone else has and since I can't sand for awhile my tests have slowed to a halt XD

well ill be sure to post anything i test once i get it. i think ill either get a test kit, or the smallest size bucket. and i might do my helmet and hand plates first, becuase thats what i have done. and im saving the torso until i get better at it.

what kind of fiberglass did you use? what was it called exactly, a fiberglass veil?

I'm still shopping for a printer to use for the pep, but as soon as I get this stuff printed out, a test I shall do.

I've been hella busy between training people in my H3 clan, work, trip planning, and...other things :rolleyes . I was so worn out this past weekend, I just stayed in the entire time.

I'll should get started soon though. I still have to do my taxes and junk here soon. Let's see how much I get back to perhaps fund all my fun stuff. ;)

Well, they aren't so bad when you get some money back. Hopefully, I'll get more back than last year since I've been working full time the entire year this time.

Yes you just get some of the money you paid in back, and the amount you get back depends on where you live, how much you make, and other complicated stuff.
Yes you would have to pay taxes, but it comes right out of your paycheck. I think around tax time your parents would still claim you as a dependant, and you probably wouldn't make enough in a year for them to keep much of the taxes you paid in. I remember getting $50 or $75 around tax time when I was working part-time and still a dependant in my family. I could be wrong about some of the details, but I don't do my own taxes. I let the professionals handle mine.

Cool rachiav :D Heheheh B-day Resin. The starter kit comes with the different thicknesses of the A.R. You can only use the fiberglass made for Aqua Resin. The small buckets are NEVER in because they sell those the fastest XD

And yes taxes.... ugh... I have my appointment the 14th. hahaha I have to do my tax journal... I hope I get a couple G's back so I can update some of my furniture and get a new TV XD And if they don't retract their original economy stimulation stuff, that would also be helpful.

;) A couple Gs?! I'm hoping for at least a grand to pay back my parents for helping me fix my car. The rest goes to paying off my credit cards, and if there's anything left armor supplies.

Yes yes. Hey it's pretty warm out here. You might be able to get some sanding done today if it's as warm there as it is here.
