Hahah yeah I think these are cool for the ladies on here if they chose to use them, I'll probably tweak them so they can be read easily :D

I think all sounds wicked Spartan! :) I think you can get away with small small decals on the helmet :) I have to look at the armor as I build it for placement. I want to put "kill" notches somwhere, maybe the forearm pieces.

Yeah, I probably could, but I don't want to end up looking like the Nascar race cars do with all thier sponsor logo's plastered all over them, LOL.

The "kill" notches would be a neat idea, I think. The forearms would work for that, though I think putting that on the side of one of the biceps would be better.

Well my forearms may be the only place I can fit the notches hahah must get hi-res Guanlet files :D

heheheh we should make a few different styles of notches :D

Ah, I see... should I take that to mean your "kill" notches would be little Mk VI gauntlets? That's pretty kewl, girl. Good thinking.

I think it would be great if we could come up with some different styles for that. How about scaled-down Plasma Grenades? Or maybe Mk VI helmets? Perhaps the knife blade used for the Legendary difficulty emblem?

Something else we should consider is, how big/small do we want these to be?

I mean, obviously they have to be large enough so people can make out what they are, but at the same time we want them small enough so that at least a few of them can be put in line next to each other.

Probably something no bigger than half an inch would be good, and have those size constraints be consistent with all the different types of "kill" notches, regardless of what they are.

For example, a Plasma Grenade would be the same size as a Mk VI helmet. What do you think?

I really think they could all work :) We can make them to match certain "kills" Similar to the Metals in H3, modified a bit of course :D
As long as we make them in Illustrator we can make them as small or as large as we want :)

Yeah, I think they'd all work, too. It would allow people to choose one more to thier own liking.

To be perfectly honest, I'm not all that familiar with the achievement medals in HALO 3. I guess that stems from not having XBL and doing any online play *shrug*.

I, unfortunately, don't have Adobe Illustrator on my computer (recently reformatted it) so I don't know how much help I can be in designing these.

Of course, I'll still lend whatever assistance I can... ;)

No worries :) It's all about fun and suggestions and customization

I didn't see this thread before I posted in the banner thread, oops.

Sorry for the graininess, but the quality was much better before it was compressed.

This is more related to Adam's Original Logo than the banner, but I thought the people that pay attention to this thread could tell me what they think of this...

3D Logo Idea

It's still in the early stages of being completely finished, but I thought I'd get a consensus before proceeded further with my ideas. This is more an idea for a splash page or main page animation intro. Ideas, suggestions, changes, and serious opinions are welcome.

Adam changed the last word on me, haha. That's an easy fix though.

I love where your vid intro is going. If I made a vid right now I'd wanna use that.

If the server restrictions on my work computer weren't so limited *mutter mutter*, I'd be able to view that. Guess I'll just have to wait until I get home to see it in action...

My learning of Illustrator is getting better, I'm still noobish, but hey it's getting me off my keister, haha i've avoided learning it long enough. I scanned in a drawing I did and drew over it in Illustrator.

The Idea of the "Bane Weasels" are the maniac Spartans that drive a warthog into an enemy base and proceed the "cleanse" the base of all enemies.

Thanks. Another version is going up in about 15-20 mins. It's for the second logo Adam put out. Doesn't have the wreaths yet, but it will.

Work restricts YouTube from you? I don't know what I'd do without YouTube as a daily distraction at...lunch...yeah just lunch... ;)

Classic! Now that's paying homage to the games, for sure. I could see a few of the SPARTANs here probably fitting into that category...

Yeah, unfortunately. As I work in a financial office, I guess they've deemed most everything not work-related irrelevant. I can't even access my e-mail account here. Although, I can still access the 405th, HMO.com and a couple other prop forums, LOL.

My daily distraction is pretty much just coming here and chatting it up with you folks, exchanging ideas and having a few good laughs.

Of course, soon none of this will be of any consequence, as my current job comes to an end at the end of this month. Then, I'll be going on to something else. Depending on the next job I have, I may not even have internet access during the day. Who knows...

Anyone know of a compression software to further compress an avi file after being compressed by "Cinepak Codec by Radius"(default codec for most computers). I used this and it only got the file down to 35MB(YIKES that was a big file). I don't think I can upload a 35MB file to YouTube, well at least not quickly anyway, haha.

Thanks,
Magnum

Hah thanks Spartan :D I acknowledge I'm insane,

I dunno what Autodesk packages in their AVI output module thingie. If you have access to an edit program, try rendering out .jpg stills of the animation and compile them into and editing program, it can help with the compression. Try doing a quicktime with h.264 as the setting, and I dunno if your render is set 320x240. Those may help shrink the size down. Unless all you can upload is AVI.

HAHAHAH that;s clever Sisko, I like it :D

Yeah-ha! Nice job, dude... using 343 Guilty Spark as the golf ball. I'm sure a lot of people would've liked to have done that to him in the game. I know I would have; he was just so damn annoying... :p lol

Well, I didn't say you were, but since you mentioned it...

Look at it this way: you're in good company here, if that's the case! :D
