I dunno what Autodesk packages in their AVI output module thingie. If you have access to an edit program, try rendering out .jpg stills of the animation and compile them into and editing program, it can help with the compression. Try doing a quicktime with h.264 as the setting, and I dunno if your render is set 320x240. Those may help shrink the size down. Unless all you can upload is AVI.
It will do series of images. I'll try that next time as I might need to if this gets anymore involved.

However, the video just uploaded. So here ya go...

Vid Logo Idea 2

It's a little dark with the new bitmap background. Anyone have ideas or an image to put in the background of this. The program will automatically spherize the bitmap so think round or repeatable shapes. The spherize feature is how the simple star background looked 3D in the first vid.

Now that is the intro they should use on tech and how-to videos.

That's pretty slick Magnum :) Great work :D
Aww shucks, you're just saying that...
Thanks.

Oh by the way, I thought of a cool idea that I could use these models for...pins. Molded pins to clip onto vests, bags, shirts, hats, etc. I'll have to see if I can make the basic three hexagons and the cirlce out of clay or wood, then try and mold some. What'd ya think?

Hey Mag, how big were you thinking of making these pins? You know, I've had some experience scratch-building small-scale items like that before. Maybe I can help with developing the master. I'd be more than happy to give it a shot... :)

Well to give you some sense of scale for the video(once you can view it), the ring that connects the three hexagons is a diameter of 2.75 inches. Now that's a little large for a pin, so I was thinking close to 2/3 of that size or slightly smaller to make them a little less huge.

Hmm... okay. Two-thirds of that size, huh? That'd make it, what... about two inches wide, then? That may still be kinda large for a pin, though. How about 1.5 inches?

Yeah that sounds about right. Just don't want to make it too small so that people can't see it on your person unless they're standing right next to you.

Well, no... of course not. At the same time, though, you don't want it so big that it would look out on place on a person... ;)

EDIT: Btw, I was finally able to view your video (got home a little while ago). That looks awesome! It's simple yet sophisticated at the same time! Good job!

True...true...

Well thank you. I have made something of an improvement upon it again. It might be up later. We'll see.

Sounds good, buddy. If you post it, I look forward to seeing it, LOL. As for the pins, if there's nothing else you can think of, I'll go about working on scratch-building a master for it, see if we can't come up with something reasonable for your idea... :D

Magnum can you post us a high def shot of the end logo from you clip, I love it!
Yeah give me a little bit. I have a 3rd rendering of images processing right now.

Edit:
Hey Doc I attached the two versions. One just has a lighter background and the other is what you saw in the vid. Use which ever you like best, but it's an evolving thing so changes are coming.

OMG! PERFECT!

Would you post in the my banner topic for a candidate for 405th logo?

BTW this be my new background!

You know, I like how the darker background in the video helps the logo to stand out more, but surprisingly the lighter background in your revised version doesn't really detract from the logo standing out. Both look good, imho.

Furthermore, this will now give me a static, dead-on reference for the molding master for the pin. I'm really eager to get to work on that... heh heh :D
