I put it between two layesr of fiberglass and after it got cured, cut fiberglass over and under the hinge along it's axis.

Aww, on my foot piece, I cut out the bottoms after resining and fiberglassing, I was afraid to warp it from being walked on, so I made my feet pieces just covers for shoes.

Planning on attaching some kind of sole to the bottom of your boots... wouldn't want all that hard work to get cracked or broken from directly walking on it. Maybe find a 1/2 dense rubber mat cut to shape and glued or riveted on...

I know the top piece is just loosely sitting on top, but are the edges going to line up with the heel piece? If so, how did you ensure that when you resined?

I'm not planning on making the sole floating faces, because I don't know how it would be used, and I don't think anyone (besides maybe you) would use them. Plus I'm kind of busy (school projects, FS Helmet, xbox LIVE )If you want to make them rubber or something, you might just make your own pattern?
