So I was snooping through Crimmson's database and I found a good Halo 4 Carbine model. No unfold, but sparkley clean.

I am in no way trying to take credit or anything, this post is only here to direct people who wanted a carbine re-work's attention.

Even though I did nothing, That's one thing off the list. Again, credits due to Crimmson, and 343.

I tried really hard on this one. I'm sorry for having to postpone everybody's requested pieces, but my armor comes first...

I have tried putting together 3 Halo 4 Recon helmets to no success. I got really close to completion on one, but it just wasn't good enough.
I took Monkeyfuj's Recon v2 and modified it... every piece. I used 10 reference pictures and 2 months on this, it has to be the best it could be.

The outcome? well, my best model yet. I think the soldier torso is pretty accurate already but I can still feel it's imperfections, since I'm a HUGE perfectionist. Maybe That's why I'll never finish my own suit, because I won't be satisfied with my own creations.

Oh, almost forgot. I haven't arranged an unfold simply because I always cram everything into the pages in my own scale, so whenever somebody ups the scale, they had to rearrange everything. I joined and unjoined everything to get glued together properly, but it's all in one mess towards the center. I wish everybody who tried to build this good luck.

As soon as took a look at this which is a really good model BTW. found some over lapping faces in the depression on the forehead. look at it from inside the helm and you will see it better.

Well unless it affects my paper folding/ gluing I won't mod it any further so feel free to change it as you please. I only gave this out so my work doesn't end with me.

This goes with all my projects in the future, since all of my previous were corrected... people can see overlapping edges/faces where I cannot, even when I'm gluing it together. That's why I cannot fix these weird errors. Like I said, feel free to correct them for me

To whomever requested this, do you still want the thighs, boots, and butt in foam too? Foam unfolding is really really easy and I have a lot of time on me this month.

To fulfill a request, I finished unfolding the XG-89 Narrow legs, all pieces and butt.

so, here you go!

It was fairly simple, but errors might exist since I'm not a foam user... but it's pretty straight forward. I have a lot of pieces kept in one piece for simplicity. In some faces, it might be ideal to split it by fold lines and glue back together as one piece, but with the angle to supplement the otherwise lost "fold" or "joint".

Alright guys, sort of a necro, but that's the thing. This thread might die or go into hibernation because I've signed up for 6 more hours of school every day. I get home at 6 most days, and weekends are dedicated to airsoft and my own project which I have been slaving for.

Anyway I'm here to tell you that a lot of my stuff is going on hiatus. I'm sorry Pat, I will still keep my memo pad widget on my home screen yelling at me to finish the xv-27 arms.

That doesn't mean I'm done, but I want to finish my stuff first.

Alright some of the things I needed to do are done. As you can see on the bottom of my screen, I even started PC gaming.

Then I realized... oh *yoink* I've got people to work with, luckily I realized only after two days' break.

So Shifting Forearms are back on the table, and Scattershot is coming later. I mean later as in... who knows how long.

Pat, I just found out about your WIP thread... and also realized that you need this file. Since you're on a deadline I will try to haul ass but no promises, so keep doing whatever you were planning as a backup.

Jen, I can start on another project, but I must ask what you are looking for. If it's the gravity hammer or something... that'll take a while. No seriously.

I've been messing around with Sketchup for a while now, and carving out my piece from a box is the best solution. As you can see below, it's a blocky process but like with my Recon Helmet and Soldier Chest drawings, I correct everything later. That means yes, that thing down there is definitely not worthy of hitting the streets lol. I tried modifying an existing forearm, and I tired a "projection modeling" where I trace reference pictures, stretch them, and stitch together but it wasn't a good method for making this arm piece. That method works a lot better for concept art modeling with 0-90-180 shots, as opposed to theater mode craziness. Lesson learned, I had it coming.

None of this matters if I put models on the table so I should get on with it. I really hope it goes well...

It is good to hear that you have made some progress on the forearms but I think I will stick with the cardboard ones I´am making right now, so no need to work on it that much but still there are some people out there who would need it! And I´am volunteering to do the unfold! xD If it´s ok. Still thanks for your hard work. :3
