After a few weeks of browsing 405th, being inspired by other peoples projects and learning from the vast amount of knowledge I finally decided on something to create for my first ever armour build. I decided to go with foam as that looked the easiest to get the hang of and I didnt have to buy that many tools that I didnt already own.
Anthony Carmine from Gears of War looked like a great choice as I loved him in the game and his armour isnt that complex. I created the templates all from scratch and so far I have finished the chest piece and have started on the back and straps to connect them. I have used EVA foam sheets.
I used craft foam or foamies to craete a layer of detail on the chestpeice. For those who dont know, COG armour has lots of rivets and I thought a great Idea would to use real screws and push them into the foam using a screwdriver. It worked perfectly and means I didnt have to glue the foamies to the EVA foam
