Haha so for now i have a bmx looking helmet and will be working on it later on this weekend when i don't work. Any tips or sugestions are greatly apreciated! Thanks for looking!

It's kinda scary how good iron man looks wearing a partial helmet in some of the pics. Looks like you know what your doing :). I wondered about mixing and matching methods. Do you think that there will be any difference visually between the helmet and the rest of your foam armor?

I don't think so, not too much at least. I think that if you seal it and paint it just the right way it should look fine. then just ad a clear coat and it should all look the same, That's what i think will happen at least haha! But in the end i guess we'll both just have to wait and see haha!

A small update but an update none the less

Thanks a lot! i hope to get all the pepping done tomorrow or at least the most part. Here's a few pics of the small bit i've done today after working.

Well the Iron man helmet doesn't hold the helmet properly now so i gotta just put it on my work lamp or my lava lamp when it's not being worked on. Since the helmet now doesn't fit Iron man :p cause the back of the helemt is now on, i can tell that it's scaled properly and will work great when i finish it, instal padding, and light. Also maybe a fan. Not sure about the fan though just yet, but i will know soon enough haha! Just a quick thanks (and future thanks) to all you who are following this and for your support and tips that you might give during this helmet build, it being my first full pep to finish build. Thanks again!

Your progress is great! Your pep work is nice and clean and I don't see any warping. Keep the motivation up and finish this! I look forward to more.

finished peping!

Well the peping is now finished! YAY! There was a tiny little warp on the bump on forhead but I fixed it. Today i will be applying the resin to the helmet and will post more pics later on today! Please give tips and advice if you have any ahah!

This Pic is of two days ago when i finished making the visor and mouth piece, so the front of the helmet i guess haha.

Well that's it folks! I should have more pics tonight or tomorrow when I apply resin to harden it. Tips and sugestions are greatly apreciated! Thanks! Peace!

Thanks! I honestly thought i'd butcher thie helmet but i really took my time and that really paid off i guess haha! Sadly today i wan't able to apply the resin to the helmet because someone decided to do a rain dance and caused it to rain a bunch here. It might rain tomorrow too witch sucks even more because i really wanted to do the resening in the sun. If it rains again tomorrow, I might just do it in our garage or something :/

:( And derp... i think i might have scewed up a little.. I was going to resin the helmet once it was hot and sunny outside but i got impatient and decided to try it anyways. So.. while it was raining i went into the garage and applied it. I've now realized that because of, the moisture, temperature, and possibly the amount of hardener, that it hasn't hardened yet, it's just sticky :/ So hopefully it will harden by tomorrow morning and if not, I'll just make a new batch of resin with a bit more hardener in it to fix it all up. Any tips would be great.

Just leave it alone man, It will cure it will just take some time. You had the patience to put it together over time just give it a couple days to dry. It's looking great though, awesome pep work! I'm looking forward to see it finished, just take your time... your scaling looks good too, what was the height on you model?

Haha thanks! The id numbers were supposed to be there but i forgot to click the button for it.. haha Well it's been raining all day today so i guess I'll finish the resining tomorrow or later on when it at least stops raining.

Heat gun will do the trick, just be careful. I do it all the time.

lol, how rude of me. Great pep skills too!

resin done!

Here's a small update on the helmet. I resined the outside of the helmet yesterday and just finished the helmet attachment witch I will resin tomorrow or the day after. I'll be getting some bondo tomorrow as well and will hopefully get time to rondo the inside of the helmet. I'll be rondoing the first layer by making several small batches to cover an area at a time to avoid any warpping then a big batch to cover the whole thing for strenghtening it. I just wanna say that Carpathiavh99 deserves some credit in this build because this is my first pep to finish build and he's been an amazing mentor and help source for question answering. Thank you Carpathiavh, you're awesome!

Well here are the pics of the resining results. Sadly i don't have a better camera (just an ipod..) to take pics of the helmet, so it doesn't look like much of a change but really it is quite a substatial change in feel and strenght of the helmet.
