Do You Believe In Ghosts?

I'm a skeptic, i don't believe in ghost encounters.
I have no idea what happens after death, but wandering around as some kind of energy being just seems silly to me.

I'm personally waiting to see what I encounter with the Ghost Hunters team myself. I just have to experience something myself to believe....

That cop chase was amazing. LOL

Ok, I forgot about uploading my ghost pic last night (I blame the beer) but i'll get around to it lol.

As for a short story....

My First Encounter:
I was 10 years old at the time and I was at one of my best friends sleepover birthday parties. It was me, and 3 other people only. My friends mother was out "on the town" and wouldnt be back the whole night. She has no father. and her brother was in jail at the time. So it was just us 4. We had our little party and all went to sleep in the livingroom. The birthday girl and my other friend were out like a light (sugar high crash lol) and it was just me and my best friend awake. We talked for awhile and then we heard a weird noise...
We stopped talking and listened, it sounded like water being pourn from a faucet and we were like WTF, its midnight and noone else is in the house...
So I though it was the birthday girls mother back from late night partying and I told my best friend we should totally scare her. So we tiptoed over to the kitchen where the water sound was coming from and both of us hurled ourselves through the swinging door.
The next thing we saw is unexplanable. The second we got into the kitchen a tall glass pitcher, filled with water, drops out of midair onto the tile floor and shatters.... the sink was still running......
My best friend and I stood there in shock and our 2 other friends came into the kitchen asking what the hell just happend and my best friend told them (I was too in shock to talk) and the birthday girl says "oh, I forgot to tell you, we have a ghost. He wont harm you though..."
After that I think I blacked out lol.

EDIT: oh, and after that I did stay at her house a couple more times and we would ALWAYS hear footsteps running up and down the stairs or find cabinet doors open and whatnot.

It's amazing how many people believe in this kind of thing. I guess it is to be expected though there is a natural fascination with the unexplained.

However I notice that most (but not all) of the people who 'believe' are younger.

The natural rules of the Earth apply to everyone. People can't fly. Period. Gravity doesn't just choose who it pulls down.

According to my beliefs from both my religion and my experiences through life there are no 'ghosts' the spirit moves on to a final resting place after death. That place is not here on this world but in Heaven or Hell, the precious human spirit does not become 'stuck' on Earth. Never seen a ghost and I don't think the chances of it happening are very high.

Ghost are just the explanation the mind gives when people can't explain something - like I said there has always been a fascination with spirits of people stuck on the earth. ALWAYS.
Demons just as real as angels they are those numbered and cast out of heaven with Beelzebub.
Witches are not people in pointy hats that fly on brooms. They are people just like you or me that worship Satan, idols or things like nature ect. ect. They may practice dark 'magic' and rituals. Do they have special cursing powers? I think not. Do they fly? I think not, like I said gravity works on them too. (Yes I have known a witch, he didn't wear pointy hats or anything of the sort.)
Werewolves and vampires get real, not in the sense of the myth.
Chupacabra maybe some sort of species undiscovered - maybe not. Kind of unlikely though.
Aliens I doubt it but who knows there could be life out there. (Let's just hope if it's true that they are friendly)
Big Foot / Sasquatch doubtful there too, maybe a undocumented species but still highly unlikely.
Lockness highly doubtful again, a monster trapped in a lake should be easy enough to find and given the lack of definitive evidence and multitude of fake photos I just doubt it to be real.
I think that is about all of the mythical creatures, not real but a heck of a lot of fun to toy around with and speculate. You must be careful not to be drawn in and fooled though.

I approach this all with skeptical attitude. I am open to any experience that lends itself to me however in my days of life none have done so. Someday maybe if these things happen and exist I will change and understand however as now is concerned they do not.

NOT TRYING TO START AN ARGUMENT HERE***

But, I actually take offense to what you just wrote there.... you obviously have to wrong idea of witches... Witches are part of a oldschool Pagan group now mostly appointed as Wicca. Wicca DOES NOT suport Satanism in ANYWAY! Wicca is a religion that revolves around spirituality and nature and stuff like that. Ive never known a witch that sits at home and hexes people just for the hell of it. Witches, in my definition, help the helpless. Satanism is the complete opposite of Wicca. Wicca is to help and love others as Satanism is to hurt and damn everything. Dark magic is looked down upon by witches, we are here to serve in a good manner.

And I dont wanna even hear about the pentagon star. Quickly, The five points represent a number of things. I myself follow: air, water, fire, spirit and energy. When the star points up it is Wicca, when it points down it is Satanic. end of story.

Dictionary definition of Wicca: A polytheistic Neo-Pagan nature religion inspired by various pre-Christian western European beliefs, whose central deity is a mother goddess and which includes the use of herbal magic and benign witchcraft.

Just thought I would point that out so people dont get the wrong idea of Witches vs. Satan

This entire topic looks like it was started to start an Argument. I'm sorry but didn't the original poster make another post to argue about PC vs Macs not to long ago? He seems hellbent on trying to prove Ghosts exist and that we must believe lol....

I'm sorry :( I wasnt trying to start an argument. Back on topic: ghost stories/encounters and the non believers lol

EDIT: Please dont lock this thread, Mods. I think its good that some of us can share our experiences. I'm facinated by this discussion.

I'm not trying to start an argument either. If you look I did say nature ect ect.
I apologize for saying dark magic - it was rather obtuse and critical.
I understand that it isn't all like that.
I do however think of wiccan v witch as a different subjects.
Like I said I have known a wiccan and he wasn't anything like a classical 'witch'.
However on the same note it is undenable that people who do the whole 'satan and evil' associate them selves with 'witchcraft' and have been known to associated themselves with 'witch or warlock'. That's more along the lines I was speaking.

I apologize for funneling terms like I did, I didn't mean to offend.

And on the topic of the OP - maybe it was intented to start an argument but I'm not going to argue - I just feel that as other post their belief I will also respond with mine, just because the opinions are different doesn't mean I'm arguing - just want to show the other side.
I like to talk and think about ghost and other supernatural things - I just don't believe they are real.

Not you, I was talking about the original poster, he seems like he is out to prove to everyone that Ghosts exist rather then persuade them and ask their opinion lol :p

Unfortunately he brings pretty lame and weak evidence to the table. LOL!
He wants to prove it with weak visual effects.

@ Lee: *vitrual handshake* lol. Its all good :]

@ Dreadnaught: oh, heh *blush*. well we all seem to be a bit more mature than he had though and I think the discussion ahs turned out for the better than what he originally planned. bwahahaha.

And yeah, I dont believe anythign I saw in those videos. All of that can be easily staged and from my experiences.... they just dont match up to the video stuff lol.

Anyway, getting back on topic, No I think Ghosts are illogical and therefor I choose not to believe in them.

I call Shenanigans on the theory of Ghosts :p

As a matter of fact I believe alot of things Wicca is... I was never taught a religion so I had to believe exactly what I believed... When it came time for me to research what I believed in to classify myself under a certain religion I realized I'm half Christian and half Wiccan. LOL So I classify under "Other". Wicca is the most peaceful religion ever and it is beautiful.

Wicca is a wonderful religion and I suport it more than anything. I have the ability to transfer my being into a complete state of Nirvana and peace. If youve never experiences a spiritual 'high' before, your missing out. I think i'll be putting myself into another state of nothingness right now actually :p
