Dreamhack Dallas/ HCS Open Series Info and Roll Call (May 23rd - 25th)

We should plan to have a call here within the next two weeks to go over the skits and make sure we level set the expectations and dry run the concepts. Otherwise others aspects will be going over booth materials and any other needs we may have to iron out for the event.

Recommended hotel given we can store equipment onsite would be the nearby Residence Inn which was offering a good deal and double Queen rooms w/ a sofa pull out bed. can fit up the 5/6 people to a room then.

Does anyone have a finished Mark 6 Gen 3 that is battle damaged/weathering, and will be coming to this event that they would be willing to donate for use to Media day? The media team just touched base with me they are interested in using a helmet to run smoke SFX through for promotional materials and B-Roll. Keep in mind this prop may be altered by the team (IE. Holes drilled) to achieve the effect so keep that in mind before offering this item.

They are also open to other helmets, but concept wise they provided me shots of the Mark 6, so I am assuming that general direction.
Here is the concept of what they are looking to do. They are also going to look at what helmets are coming, and if any of those are of interest it opens our pool wider if we want to as a community, make something for it.

I have one of those cheap toy mk VI gen 3 helmets. I can just sand repaint and weather it so then it’s nicer to look at. Is there a certain color scheme they are looking for?

Hey everyone, I have an update. They have selected the skits they wish to move forward with and they are the Halo Olympics and the Hula Hoop. They also like the idea of us around carrying flags through the event. We will also be doing a "Show of Force" which is greeting attendees during opening at the door. Were also working out further details. But I wanted to give you all an update!
What is the halo Olympics? I wasn’t there last year and don’t think I saw what is it specifically on the chat.

To be fair non of us went to dreamhack representing the 405th last year. This is our first year attending this event for that. As for the Halo Olympics I would also like some more clarification on what that entails. I also cant hula hoop for the life of me so that's probably a no go for me unless you want me to purposely fail at it.

Halo Olympics includes the following "fun" challenges:

• **"Mjolnir" Endurance Hold** – Contestants hold a heavy prop (like a gravity hammer or turret) at arm's length for as long as they can.

• **“Plasma Grenade” Hot Potato** – Players pass around a blue stress ball or plush “plasma grenade” while music plays. When the music stops, whoever is holding it is out!

**“Betcha Can't Stick It" Achievement**
• **Sticky Note Armor Build** – Teams race to completely cover a teammate in “armor” made of sticky notes, using blue ones to match the plasma grenade theme!

• **Covenant Translator** – Team members take turns speaking in their best silly “Elite” or “Grunt” gibberish, while the audience votes for the best performance.

• **Ring Activation** – Teams try to pass a Halo Ring (a blue hula hoop) down their line without breaking their formation. Players must hold hands and maneuver the hoop over their bodies to the next teammate. The first team to finish wins! (The hoop should be big enough for armor!)
