Energy Sword Handle Size - How Big Is The Handle?

I was going to make an energy sword handle out of wood on the weekend, but I can't work out how big it should be. My math off a really bad picture says it is about 41cm top to bottom of the handle (not including blades). Can anyone help me out here if you've made one?

I had checked that but I hadn't seen the width bit, which does support my 41 cm mesurement (sorta). Does seem big though. Thanks for your help!

PS. Has anyone made one and if so what size did you do?

Thanks for the pics (nice AR by the way).

Is that a bought sword? If so I think those ones are reduced size (handle that is) to the ones in the game, because now I think about it an elites fingures are A LOT longer than a humans. Maybe I'll build a handle to the size I worked out (for show) and one to a comfortable size (for messing around with).

That sword is NOT to scale.

The cheap metal energy swords are at least 2/3 the size of what they should be. Look to Halopedia for the definitive scale size.

Ok, after taking an image off Halopedia and blowing it up to roughly the correct dementions I've come up with the handle being around the hight of an A4 page (probably slightly bigger), so thats how big I'll make it, it looks like it will be comfortable (ish).

By the way I'm still working on the AR on and on (as it says below)

Everything in the game is a little larger than life. If you need to reduce it slightly that's pretty common. All the props here have to be scaled for real people to some degree... very few people are actually 7' tall in their armor.

But it would be cool to see one at full scale too. Whatever you preference may be.
