Below you can see today's progres, I jumped right into shaping the left shoulder to match the right. So far I'm very happy with how close I've been able to match them. The pics don't do it justice though.

Looking really good. This may be your first set of armor but I would bet that you have had some experience working with bondo.

Once again thanks everyone. I'm hoping that this turns out to be a productive week (I only have so many hours after work each day to spend on these projects). If all goes well there's no reason that I shouldn't be well into the thruster packs by Friday.

Edit: I'm waiting on one part to arrive to finish off he helmet as well; so after that comes I'll have the final pics of the helmet up on the first page of this thread!!

Quick update, pretty excited to get home from work today and receive the last piece I need for the helmet, visor hex stencil!!!!!

Time to try it out...

Tonight was dedicated to more final details on the helmet (couple more scuffs, visor hex pattern, brush painting), the final reveal is coming soon!

For now I'll leave you with a teaser shot...

Edit: I can't ever do the reveal without showing you he internals first, I suppose right now is as good a time as any.

this is pretty amazing T, I am really liking the neck seal, never thought of that. I think I'll try that on this locus helmet I recently bought and am working on.

Okay, that helmet is a thing of beauty. The innards look so tidy, and that neck seal is brilliant! I'd love to see if I pull off something like that once I get to that point as well, if you wouldn't mind. Being able to see out of the neck area through the visor bugs me something awful. -_-; That's quite a snazzy visor, too. I can't wait to see the whole thing!

Looking great! I think I might use the neck seal idea as well. I have never done it before so I could have better circulation. I'm installing some fans in my current build so maybe a neck seal won't be too hot.

The idea for the neck seal came from looking at my helmet and just thinking about what spartan armor would be like. I can say for sure that you need good ventilation with it installed. In each of the side pieces of my helmet are fans to keep the fresh air moving. The neck seal also requires you to have someone on hand to install it for you after the helmet is on your head since it's such a tight fit. Anyone who wants to copy it/ use it, I say go for it!

I have to have someone help me put the whole thing on so adding one little piece extra isn't a big deal lol. The only problem is taking it off for a drink or something

I can see it now.
You have a small hole in the rear of the helmet (probably like where the AI slot is). On the inside of the helmet, it's a tube that goes to your mouth (similar to a camelbak or something) from that hole on the back of the helmet. So if you want a drink, someone holds a drink with straw up to the back of your helm lol. That would be a funny pic

Haha yes!

So big news update on the helmet: IT'S DONE. Pics to come in the second post of this thread tonight. Can't wait to show you guys what 3 months of work has resulted in.

To be honest with u, I think ur helm deserves a spot in the ELITE section! Keep up the awesome work!

Great build! Love the helmet and visor. Everything is looking perfect!

Thank you very much, a ton of hard work went into it. I fully expect the rest of my suit to come out as good if not better than the helmet.

And what's another post without at least one pic?
