Back home from the holiday cruise.
115 days until Supanova Gold Coast.
Time to get crackin' on updates.

Hey PlanetAlexander - Is it too early to start planning a meet up or put an event on the Discord channels for events and AU Regiment?
Odds are I'd only attend for one of the two days with a convention this size - I'm guessing I'm not the only person thinking that way - So might be nice to get all the Halo attendees there on the same day. Just a thought.

Usually we organise it a couple of weeks beforehand - that way we know the dates are confirmed (the Gold Coast one has been moved before, though that time it actually saved the convention), there's a rough idea of weather, and it's not too far away that people forget about it (*cough cough* people such as myself).

Sounds good.
115 days... How's you're punch list of things to accomplish by then, coming along?

Still catching up on other projects before getting to work on improving Grunther. I've got a looooooong list of things that need to be updated, but as it stands he's still *technically* functional, so it's a matter of prioritising what needs to be done.

79 build days to convention.

Left thigh off the printer. 60hr print.
Lets see how the fit is with the calf.

1. Wow, these shop-jeans from when I was 15kg heavier really are loose. I have no butt.
2. These parts are so much lighter than the ones I made from the earlier files. This calf and thigh together don't weight what the other calf alone weighed. I know people are going to ask so...
  • Original parts were from Galactic Armory. Not bad parts, just modeled for someone with average/skinnier legs so the parts are beefed up to make the wearer look stockier. I'm already stocky so thighs with 40mm thick walls wasn't a good choice for me. Again, good parts and not disappointed with the modeling in the lease - Just not the best parts _for me_ and _my build_.
  • New parts are from ArmoryOfCaminus. I feel these are modeled without any compensation being baked in. A stocky person is all set. A thinner person would want to pad up the under suit to bring their 'body' in line with a soldier's build.
3. Much better fit. No knee joint conflict. I had no problem sitting down to the sofa or my desk chair.
4. Walked around for half an hour like this. No straps or velcro etc
5. Kinda tight getting the thigh _off_. Going to bump the X scale up by 3% for other side. (I can get away with sanding at the bottom for this one, plus the under suit will be thinner)

59 build days remaining.
That's 1416 hours, times however many printers you own.
944.5 reasonable waking hours for a person.

I think I want to do a new helmet. Okay... I am doing a second helmet. The 'grenadier' helmet is similar to the CQC in many ways, but has some modular attachments and less 'back of the head'.

Also doesn't have a second part at the back that had to be made hinged, or magnet or something in order to get in and out. So parts going on the printers tonight.
Of course I'll paint it as a replacement for my copper suit, so same paint scheme as the current helmet.
