on the turrets they are possible to make but not with pep
if you use cardboard and pvc pipes you can make it
i do have a turret 3ds file somewhere on my laptop if you want it

You know what, I bet I could delete the barrels off of the model and then pep up the rest...People could use cardboard tubes or PVC like you said. I'll give that a shot and let you guys know what happens.

Needler (no needles)
...
weapon holder (Take out the flat plains that the electricity texture goes on)
...

I'll start work on the needler tonight. I'll hope I can find the weapon holder..if not, I'll start work on something else instead.

a PEP needler... dang that would be insane
best bet is to fill needles with resin, sand paper down and paint 'em fluorescent pink

Seems like a waste of perfectly good resin to me...Unless you mean just to coat the inside with a semi-thick layer of resin? OOOH! You could even put a clear LED with a pink covering in each needle to make it glow!
MINI UPDATE-extracting needler model as I type this. Simultaneously working on...fixing...the turret model. It's gonna be a hard one, people. Wish me luck. I'm gonna have to do it in peices just because of the sheer size of it.

my idea for the spartan laser was to form a circle in the front with red led's then insert some home leveling laser from home depot into the housing before i resined it shut. of course some kind of external switch would be necessary as well as an access to the battery for the lasers and leds. either way it will be awesome...

Why and external switch, why not use a momentary pushbutton behind a trigger to activate it, pull the trigger, it pushes the button switch... would almost give you the effect from the game...

Ugh! I tried to upload the file, but it says I'm not allowed. I will e-mail the Spartan laser file to anybody who sends me a PM.
EDIT: I sent you the file h1Spartanfromhell. You have to rescale it.

You need to download winRar to open the .rar file. Just go to google, search for "rar extractor". There's a lot of free rar programs out there. Install the program, then just open the model file using the program and all the peps are in there.

how about some brute armor (though would take awhile to fully build it) and/or just the top piece of the brute hammer (we could get our own poles to put the piece on)?

wow slyfo you made a big project for your self
but i hope you start with the armor witch is what every one really wants like the scout and bungie exlusive armor

wel the dead spartan is right, you may have been hassled less if you waited till you had a lot finished but i am not complaining

at the moment i am undecisive of either starting up a mkvi helmet or hold off till the hayabusa files come into circulation, any news on the hayabusa files?

ATTN SLYFO or anyone that can show me how to extract files from game/hd: i sent you a pm offering any help you need to extract the files/convert them to pepakura (i have the full retail version of 3dsmax8 & pepakura) - offer still stands oh grand master ( :not worthy: ) by the way keep up the good work, we will patiently await your progress.

in the mean time i think i will start off the splaser project.

I like big projects. Go big or don't go at all, and all that.

The hayabusa helm is not finished yet. Still working on all those.

Eventually, I'm gonna have all of the alien armor as well. Jackal sniper "helmet", brute armor for the different ranks, maybe a grunt re-breather or something. I'm shooting for everything that CAN be done, WILL be done. It just takes time..Even though the universe seems to be trying to make it so I can't work on it right now (things getting in the way, taking up time/semi-serious computer hardware issues)

make the marines and the fution core and power core

Already said I'm doing the marine armor. The fusion/power cores seem like an interesting enough challenge. No use for the fullsize ones, obviously, but they'd sure be cool as mini's.

QUICK PROGRESS UPDATE-
Having difficulty extracting further files from the beta. Computer issues are preventing me from doing much at the moment, but I hope to have those cleared up soon. Might be bad RAM.

Still working on ripping files from the retail.

Have a few of the templates already successfully flipped, will update archive in the DL when I have more.

Mauler progress-nearly complete. Ammo drum is finished/main weapon is 95% finished.

hey sylfo, i have a tid-bit id like to share with you, if you go into the pepakura file , go
Configuration>Line Style Configuration> "Hide fold lines almost flat"> "angle that is considered to be almost flat" "### degrees"
if you lower that number it erases fold lines that would be better off curving. in the case of many of the armor models, many of these lines it erases should be smooth, someone else has done this by simply not folding certain lines he called it "selective folding" but this is a way that pepakura can do the work, it takes blocky poly look out of the build.
around 165-170ish seem to work on the armor the best any less and youll notice lines you really want folded dissapearing. just a tip. ill send you a few examples.

-edit i had a typo, see my quote in the next post :D

I think it did that with my stuff automatically already.

There were a few spots on the Mk VI Slyfo helm I created that did not need to be bent, but most were necessary....

Regardless, Slyfo, thanks for the pep file... it turned out great, I did have to do quite a bit of work, but it provided a most excellent starting place...
