ALRIGHT SARA YOU CONVINCED ME and I needed a new clean canvas to work with too lol, so this post is up thanks to you :)
i did the "ears" tonight and cleaned up the face than decided to prime it, now just to do the "cheeks" and the neck seal, still gotta decide on a paint job too

i have to hit it with a finer grit sandpaper after all the detail is done and reprime the piece than finalize the deal and paint it :)

Mwah ha ha, the power! This really looks amazing now that you can see it all, great work!

Thank you my friend :) i have some smoothing to do and more fairing out still after the rest of the detail is done but thats not a problem, just means i need more primer lol. it really does look alot better all one color but yours, that one, the eva, my god that one is just...... just beauty. i wish my recon looked as good as your eva lol

Great work Sonny, really enjoyed watching this come together.

halex I am glad you enjoy it :) Ihave another project on the starting table now lol, due to your rifle build. thanks buddy!

So this was the easy part of this whole build, the neck seal area which consists of the blocks there
SARA I AM SORRY I HAD TO RUIN YOUR PAINT JOB! lol

All I need to do now is clean the top side of the neck seal which i will add to tomorrows to do list and finalize some more smoothing in certain areas that need attention and add in some detail lines. I ordered my visor for this beast today too :) hurray!!!! this is one build that has taken me forever but it has been well worth it.

Sweet. Sonny that is looking great. What color visor did you get? Cause that might determine the color.

Nice work, looks great!

Thanks db!

I'll allow it ;-)
Latest update is looking really good, decided on a colour yet?
THanks for allowing that sara :) no color choice made just yet, visor is determining that.

THanks Socom... how is your build going? i haven't seen too many updates besides the start of the bondo. Look at the visor below :) just installed it.

Todays update, i did everything i listed last night and than got my visor in, even though it wasn't my first color choice. First choice was a mirror finish but they had none at the local shop, when i ordered this offbrand visor they couldn't get it in, so i just said screw it and bought this :) my second choice and I am coming to like it more and more.

I used blackulas method of attaching the visor but instead of mighty putty i used the jb weld metal putty, same hardware, and used bondo to fill the gap in the visor to helmet face area.
Thanks for looking! Hope you enjoy :)

So if you are reading this right now, post a suggestion on colors. I am at a total loss on a paint job right now and none of the current colors i have would look good with this visor. POST AWAY.... and if you have a pic of some sort to give an idea, post that too! thanks 405th!

Are you going to use some primer filler before starting your paint scheme?

yreah, i have some high build i am gonna throw on in a few to fill in the scratches from the eighty grit. i look at it though and i kinda like the rough look. i looked throuigh the theater option on halo 4 and the armor is very scratched and roughed not smoothed at all.

Maybe get the filler on, 400 grit it to perfection then put the scratches there your self so they look less like sanding scratches and more like battle damage. Guess you will only really know once you have your filler on. Personally though I would get the lid looking smooth then add my damage as I like to be control of everything :p

i did it that way to closer match the render in post one and i also like it that way allot more. i was never a fan of the recon until i found that render and tried my hardest to match it

It's looking great, I'd have to agree with Drack though about smoothing and then re-scratching it. My paint suggestion would be something blue, but your warrior is already blue so you probably want to try something different.

I second the blue option, as anything blue is amazing. Or silver!

Seriously though, it looks great. I like it a lot more with the lower portion removed, for sure. That was always my least favorite part of the recon helmet. I hate you for making me want to start another helmet before I finish my MkVI! =(
