On the off chance you are still trying to locate the gold iridium visors I was able to locate them here
http://www.ebay.com/itm/HALO-Master...170150?hash=item541c7c7066:g:dHAAAOSw-7RVFudX

and was also able to locate the hex pattern here
https://bd15decals.com/products/a4-size-hex-sheet

im sure that there's other places I haven't located yet but here's a starting point

someone posted a cheap alternative method of adding the hex pattern to the visors. its very cool and I think you could even do it to clear ski visors and make it look even cooler. if you had access to a vacuum form it might even be worth doing it that way as well.

good work on the files. I opened them with solidworks and they are pretty sharp!

I know this goes without saying and right along with what everyone else has been posting but truthfully the details on these files are amazing!!! Cant wait to see your total finished product on this build, following this intently!!!

I understand entirely, would it be alright to use your files so that I can get used to a few basic operations before I try for my own build design or would that be bad form on my part?

Thanks a lot for the files

I've started producing the parts this week and I must say, the parts so far have proven a joy to work with. tijojo98 : post it, we'll see if we can find an answer to your issues. Include brand of machine, used type of filament and printer parameters.

wow. Level shifts. Massive ones at that.
First thing you'd have to suspect is motor skipping or the GT2 belt springing over a tooth of the pulley.

On a Wanhao (Prusa Clone), stuff you can check is :

1) pulley's still fastened ? The are fixated with a small imbus/allen key on the axis motors. When this allen key comes loose, all kind of horrors start happening.
2) belt tension problem
3) on some Wanhaos I know the Melzi board/stepper controller the voltage settings of the controllers are sometimes notoriously off-spec.
4) printspeed WAY to high ?
5) do the axis of the carriage run freely ? Nothing that obstructs the movement ?

But with such massive issues, the problem is mechanical most of the time. Also, I've been told by a couple of friends who have a Wanhao that although they love their printers and I agree they're excellent value for money, their quality control -especially on the cheper models- is lacking. Like, A LOT. :D

Wanhao has an insanely active user forum. They are your first and foremost treasurechest in terms problem solving. Wanhao has a large following of near-fanatical users, do yourself a favor and put your problems up there too. It would not be the first time Wanhao would have a series of machines where they forgot X or botched up Y, and where near impossible problems turned out to have very easy solutions. Also, stuff like the correct calibration of the stepper controlers ect ect can be found there..

Keep us posted, and I wish you much success. Entering the 3D printing world, especially when using this kind of "tinker machines" (not saying this in a belitteling way, although I don't own one, these are "my kind of machines"), the first steps are often a bit rocky. Don't ever let that discourage you or doubt you did the right thing buying that machine : it's a learning experience, and I promise you, it is a gratifying one. And as said, with the Wanhao you've become part of a family of thousands of users who share their tips and experiences freely : it is one of THE most valid reasons to buy a Wanhao. Make full use of that advantage !!!

Thanks a lot it seemed that the axis was obstructed by the wire belt that was getting stuck in the endstop on the left side of the extruder which was confusing the printer

Great to hear you indentified the problem ! Sunny clear skies and smooth printing from now on, that's what I wish for you. :D

Currently printing the sides of the helmet print time 70 hours the first layer of the raft is always a big mess but the printer always seem to be able to continue after without any problem

I got past a Cryptoni like ransomware virus not too long ago. All I needed was 1 encrypted file (e.g. a pdf file) and its original unencrypted (I pulled an original from an old e-mail) to decode the key. The algorithm used is the same for the rest of the files. If you still have the encrypted files, I may be able to help. Otherwise, I'll just post this link to a really fantastic program to help some others.
