Hello 405th!

It’s been a long time coming but I finally got around to joining the forums and creating a thread to share my works with the rest of the Halo armor building community!

In this thread, I will be sharing with you the progress of my new Halo 4 Master Chief armor that I recently started over the summer. I am hoping to have the entire suit completed before the release of Halo 5!

This is not my first armor build. I have actually been around the 405th for several years now simply watching and learning from all the talented and passionate members on the site. In the summer of 2010, I built my first suit after learning and being inspired by what i saw on these forums.

Here are some pictures of my previous work. A Halo 3 MK VI Master Chief!

Notice the string in the back of the head used for holding up the dummy.

I also constructed some weapons to complement its design.

Just for effect. That’s actually a 30-30cal. round. Defused of course.

I was looking forward to seeing some of your work but the link you posted isn't an actual link, just text. Fix the link so we can see what you've done! :D

Sorry about that. Was having a little trouble with adding pictures to the post but I think I have it figured out now.:p

Yep, you've got it! Great work on these two builds. i like the detail on the forearm piece with the hidden blade. Awesome job! :D

Thank you. Alot of time and effort went into carving those forearm plates by hand. I am very happy with how they turned out.

All right! Enough with the past! Let’s get on with the present miscreation!.

As I said before, I have already started my Halo 4 costume earlier this summer. Unfortunately, my progress speed has been less than exceptional.
Just as many of you, this summer was my vacation time between college semester and just like you, I took full advantage of sitting around the house doing nothing other than playing Xbox, eating and sleeping.;) I also began the process of building my new armor set from the ground up.

When I say "the ground up", I mean starting with the boots.

A lot of people are going to foam armor builds but I still believe in the old ways of pepakura, fiberglass resin and lots and lots of bondo.

After about two months of on and off work, (I had alot of games that needed to be played), I finally had something that looked half-way decent.
Only about 90% finished. Still needs some touch-up work and paint.

A little foam work to fill in some gaps between the hard pieces and hide the shoe.

0.o Thats odd, on mine it shows "Sorry. This person moved or deleted this image." on both IE and Chrome.

EDIT: Just to clarify, only on the first post - I can see the boot pictures no problem.

I'm now on my home computer, and I cannot see the pictures in first post either. Strange, I could see them on my work computer no problem, but now, not so much.

No pictures for me either in the first post - just "Sorry. This person moved or deleted this image."

i can see boots but nothing else same here :/

I went back and reuploaded the pictures from my first post. Tell me if they are working now.

I see them now! I like your Halo 3 Masterchief! just some constructive criticism you can ignore it if you like :p. But the only thing on that spartan that looks a little off to me is the undersuit, seems kind of bland compared to the armor which is done very well. Cant wait to see what you do with the halo 4 suit!

The under suit is nothing more than a black turtle neck shirt and a pair of stretchy black woman's pants. For my Halo 4 suit, I want to do something a bit more impressive that doesn’t involve me wearing women’s cloths.

I think I spent far too much time in the military for me not to comment on this... but I also know far too many sailors to come up with something good that wouldn't involve a true story. However, as long as there is no makeup involved, I think you are safe.

When it comes to the undersuit, try using a couple of layers of 2mm EVA craft foam and making an "iron man" style suit to wear over the undersuit. If you black plasti-dip it, it will look leather-like. You can detail it well enough and if a piece rips, just replace it.

Remember, a costume is never complete, only in advanced stages of upgrades.
