Quick update before my 2 weeks of midterm hell starts

Started making the Infinite helmet and boy is it looking great. This is the most I’ve used surface modeling and it’s probably the most difficult to do imo. However the results really stand out. I made this by drawing orthographic references of the helmet, my familiarity with chiefs armor and with the help of the fortnite files helped me get my values right. And overall the images I made helped me map out the control points of my sketches.

Next up is the shin, really happy with how this turned out. I still mainly relied on solid body modeling and sculpting for the most part of the shins, but I used surface modeling for the front portion instead. I rescaled the front and back part of the shin to be bigger and I’d say it’s almost perfect.

I’ll get started on the thighs, boots, and torso after my midterms if time permits. Another major plan I have is to make Chief’s armor assemble and disassemble as seen in the step inside trailer. The shin is already separated into 3 major components so I’ll just worry about connecting them, and I intend to apply this design on chief’s other armor parts.

And last, here’s another update on the Mk VII. Just finished printing the toe and ankle pieces, so here’s a picture of it being worn.

And here are some comparison shots because by now you would know I love doing that lol.

I also made the effort to make it look like this photo despite the weird angle. 0E202C56-E51C-4E77-957B-65099A7698C7.jpeg

And here are some screenshots I took from fusion 360.

I naturally like to scale up my armor to really capture the proportions of a Spartan, but usually that limits the comfort and range of movement. Even though this is the bulkiest suit I’ve made, I added a removable panel in the back so I can bend my knees.

Here’s some pictures to showcase how much I can move. In fact I can bend my knees a little more than this!

Anyway that’s it for this update, hope you guys enjoy the collage of pictures :D

For my second project. I’ll be making the Mark VII suit from Halo Infinite. I really love the look of this and it’s def gonna be the most comfortable suit design from the looks of it.

So far I’m making good progress on the legs and just printed moe’s mk vii helmet! Feel free to comment, this is the second suit I’ve ever 3D modeled so any opinion on how to improve this would be a big help!

What print settings did you print the helmet? Also, I am in love with this new MK VII Helmet! And you have done an amazing job!!

YOO Im doing that same build but i cant find the files for the MK VII besides the helmet. I was kinda forced to do the Chief VII with the MK VII helmet your holding in the photo. Where did you get the files? Also, Nice work!!!! Cant wait to get mine looking as good as that!
Hey glad you like the files. I 3D modeled my files for Master Chief and the Mark VII suit. I actually just started selling the files for my Mark VII. If you’re interested you can email me here (themakyrindustries@gmail.com).

Almost done with Mark VII forearms. Good thing these didn’t take too much time to make and were a lot of fun.

Was messing around with fusion and I guess I’ll start playing around with the color component tool. I found the colors hilarious

Another cool feature I found another use for today is the “analyze section” tool. I normally plug in my models in a slicer just to see the hollow and solid sections by using the layer slider.
I normally leave hollow or solid sections on purpose whether I want to reduce weight or provide more strength to my model. Sectioning the model makes it much easier to check if I’ve achieved the inner structure I want. Idk why I just thought of using this tool today but better late than never.

Thanks glad you like it! Yep I’ll be building the entire suit except the helmet. The arms shouldn’t take too long to make but I’m also balancing time with school so that’s a factor affecting deadlines.

If you’re really interested you can hit me up on Instagram (@the_makyr) or email me directly at (themakyrindustries@gmail.com), eventually I’ll setup an Etsy store.

Just completed both of the boots! I’ve already started on the torso and thighs so I’ll be updating on those soon.

here’s a shot to the mobility I have in the suit. Once padded properly I should be able to move better. Ankle armor is hinged and has to ways of articulation (hinging and sliding) to provide more mobility.

The articulating parts aren’t moving yet in these images since I’ll be showing them off in a future post.
