Back again with another update!
Finished modeling Master Chief’s COD piece. This one was a pain to make, all the awkward organic pieces made it difficult to blend it with the non organic shapes. But pretty happy about how it turned out in the end.
I’ve also made some changes of my own on the COD piece however the changes I’ve made are very subtle. The main groin piece is smaller and squarer/ boxier and also gave it a more “T” shape to emphasize a robotic appearance, this was inspired from the become trailer and gundam design. Furthermore, I’ve also implemented my own subtle design changes throughout the armor that I will discuss in a future post when I finish the suit.
Finally, Ive also finished printing the left arm of the suit. Scaling the arms was a bit tricky since 1cm in height resulted in a huge increase in width for the forearm and bicep pieces. Overall, the arms look amazing and feel amazing to wear. The movement isn’t bad at all and I can definitely have more range when I complete the undersuit.
So here’s a little insight when scaling. Depending on the armor’s shape and proportion, sometimes increasing the height by a small amount can create a huge difference. The small forearms piece you see here is 28cm tall while the bigger one is 30cm tall. The height difference is only 2cm however when relative to the wearer the smaller forearm is for someone with a 6’0” frame while the bigger one is for someone who is 6’8.
Hope you guys enjoy this post, I’m finally making progress on the upper body. Next up will be the torso!
