Well, I have just about completed the new boot. I need to add those square pieces to the sides of the foot, but this one looks better. Even without wearing my water shoe inside, it still fits pretty good. The first one I made practically fell off my foot when I wasn't wearing a shoe! XD

I already started putting together the right boot and need to take my dremel to it. I am pretty much following the same technique that Calladar used to make his and I am liking what I got so far. I really think I will have this finished for Halo-ween! XD hehe

That is what inused for mine.. Around here they are called deck shoes.. Traced them and then workednup from there... Work like a champ.

Water Socks(or Aqua socks, water shoes) are used more like a sock and should be snug fitting so as they will not come off your foot and to give you better support. The water sock has a mesh and/or neoprene upper and the sole is usually a carbon rubber but sometimes has sticky style rubber to better grip wet and slippery surfaces. These types of shoes are used from swimming, walking in rivers/streams, and any other activity where the wearer will have their feet in the water most of the time.

The deck shoe is more design wise like a skate shoe. The deck shoe is worn while on decks of ships and around docks. The shoe can be either a slip on style or may have laces. Deck shoes generally have a canvas upper and a flat sole with a honey comb pattern tread. The out sole is made out of a non-marking rubber and other have a gum rubber sole to better grip the deck and to keep from slipping on the smooth wood surface.

Wow! That is all I can say about this. The foam build looks great and so much easier then making out of pepakura. I'm thinking I might make my ODST build out of foam. Love the detail you have put into it. Can't wait to see the entire suit when its finished.

WOOT! So I have completed the 2nd boot! It's just fully assembled at this point. Still need to do the paint work. Here are some pics for your viewing pleasure.

The left boot has already had a fair amount of paint work done to it. Still need to add a few more details to it and a nice little black wash to it and the left boot will be finished!

think you can get an orthographic view of the boots, from perspective they look absolutly massive, kinda like all the gears armor, still i love following this thread...mostly its just good to find some female gamers with some modeling talent, don't get me wrong there are other good female modelers on here, but i like your stuff more

Here, maybe this pic will help with more of a comparison size....

The shoe seen in the pic is a size 6.5 They do NOT fit me very tight and are pretty comfy. Since they are a "skater shoe", they do look a bit big. These are also the shoes that I based my first boot model off of and the boot was TOO big.

The boot is almost finished! Still needs a little more paint work and it will be done! The other boot is at the same stage as this one.

not very likely, i mean it would just be so hard to read, and not to mention if they did mange to read it its gonna make it hard to insert them, with the covies running about...lol

Well, everything will have been built, but the chestplate needs a bit of paint work which I have already worked on. I'm trying to design a neck covering, but it didn't work and I sort of ripped the chestplate around the neck hole.

Well, I ended up doing a test fitting with the chestplate and helmet to see how it all looks together and.............it makes me look like a bobble head! The helmet is HUGE! It looks so goofy compared to my chestplate. I am going to need A LOT of padding just to keep it from wigling around, but then I also gotta try and raise it quite a bit just so I can even turn my head.

Then to top it off, I forgot that I don't have gloves or the handplates yet! I mean, at least I still got time before Halo-ween, but just when I thought I was about done, MORE stuff comes up and is making it more frustrating.

It just doesn't look right. :\ And I have a hard time turning my head since the helmet sits so close to the chestplate.

This is looking epic... i think it'll look alright once the helmet is padded, i'm having the same problem with my current build, best of luck...
