Red accent colors have been applied, now all that's left is the weathering and black washes!
To get the splotchy/chipping coloring for the red accent colors I used spray paint and sponges.
I sprayed the red spraypaint into a bowl, dabbed the sponge on the paint, then dabbed the sponge on cardboard to get rid of excess paint and then just padded down where I wanted the paint to be applied.
Edge weathering and scratch filling all done. Next up is black washing and a little rust might go back after the black wash and do a little more edges, but that's all up for later decisions enjoy.
Black wash is complete!!! painting is essentially done! will do a suit up once the strapping is done.
Very happy with it so far, next is small amounts of rust in some of the bullet hole/crevices. Shoe goo the inside of the armor. Finish the helmet attachments and visor install. and strapping to finish it off!
Got my neck seal all done, wow does a neck seal make a huge difference in looks for armor. For the zipper, I cut a jacket zipper i bought from walmart down to size, then tore off some of the teeth, and had my wife sew in the zipper stops (cuz i'm an idiot about sewing).
This definitly gives it the final touches I am hoping for.
Along with this, I finally snap fastened the armor for my undersuit, and bought suspenders to keep my pants up lol. only issue is, in order to put the leg armor on and snapped in, I have to lay on the floor and somewhat wiggle into my armor... totally worth it though.
This weekend, i'm gonna get the tubes installed for the helmet and hopefully with the help of the wife finish the rust. heres a sneak peak of the rust so far. also my wife put the insignia for the outcasts on the shoulder, looks pretty good!
Woooo I have an idea, might be too late but maybe expand that amazing claw damage from the shoulder all the way to the chest, awwww that would be badass

Same here! you're gonna have to make a fallout cosplay so we can do a photoshoot haha.
expanding on this, I almost finished the helmet. got the tubes installed, mesh put on the front filter, pads and helmet fan installed inside. only thing left is to weather the tubes, rust it a little, and wire in an LED for the lamp.
Suited up this weekend and got some pics. After suit up I realized the chest sat crooked because There was no attaching the armor from one side to the other. I Fixed that by making a Foam plate to velcro the suit closed and it fixed the issue.
I also made a housing in the stomach area of the chest piece (under the armor) to hold my speaker that hooks up to a wireless mic in my helmet. works great and adds a level of depth to the armor without causing feedback.
Last step for the armor will be a little bit of rust besides the rust on the shoulder and it will be done and time to move on to my laser gatling.
