Helmet lights

Second vote for modifying reading lights, best choice for beginners.

I love that that light is photo sensitive and turns on in the dark by itself.

i used advance auto flash light(2 bucks for 9 bulbs.) and it had a battery holder.

I was browsing the outdoor section in Walmart and found this headlight that could be used for the helmet. You may need to take it apart or cut it in pieces to fit the helmet. I comes with 5 different LED lights. 2 clear flood lights, 2 red night vision and 1 spot light. It is only powered by 2 AAA batteries. It costs less than $20 (the price shown was for a different light). That's very reasonable. Hope this helps.

Not a bad find. I actually purchased a head lamp (like a miner's helmet light) for the field. Small, compact and EXTREMELY bright. I actually am considering using one of these now, considering that the LEDs are bright themselves. That brings me to another point you have to be careful of. You need to make sure the LEDs your looking at are self-sustaining in that it's not relying on any form of magnification through a lense or reflective material surrounding the LED.
