Looks like I'm building on the shoulders of giants here, look here for a better tutorial.

Before I begin, I need to state that this does require two people. It is also not suggested you do this in an exceptionally warm area.

First:

Gather up your supplies. Plastic wrap, mailing/packaging tape, and some scissors.

Now, have the other person wrap you in plastic wrap. Be sure to puff yourself up so you have room to breathe. Considering that some women do this to lose some pounds, I'd say it's safe. I'm even wearing under armour and I noticed only a little discomfort.

The next step from here is to have the helper wrap you up in packaging tape, two times at a minimum or more as you can stand it/need durability.

Now just cut off the completed cast and take a deep breath.

Now just seal up the cuts with more tape until you're sure it stays together. Wrap more if you need to, however my two wrap cast was able to hold my torso piece as it was being smooth-cast so even the lightest is pretty durable.

Congratulations, you now have a body cast. Thios can be done for any body part, but I highly suggest not attempting this for the head/face as plastic isn't very easy to breathe through.

Hey nice idea, and as for the face, just wear some goggles and put a straw in your mouth, and when your fully wrapped. Just put some tape over the holes. Its gonna be EXTREMELY uncomfortable but will work.
Great idea dude!!

i find it better to do this so its then made to your body and the armour you make will fit perfect if it fits this cast ...

i do find it better tho once you have been wrapped in the plastic to then have some go around you with duck tape thus making a DTD (Duck Tape Dummy)

i usually make a full body one and then put that on a base with plumbing pipes going up the legs and into the arms etc and then stuff it so its rigid and stands upright...

so much easier for test fitting/painting etc

** edit...

just read through the link given above... great tutorial and great idea! will definatly consider it! better then stuffing news papers and things for hours lol (unless you want to do it on the cheap lol)

One of the best tricks when doing this is to invest is a set of bandage scissors. It saves you so much agony when removing the tape cast.

Nice walk-through of the process!

This is a great idea! Thanks for the thread- and thanks to MacAttack64 for the older thread that has the full model.

Besides with this chest cast that means I can keep my pieces off the floor and there's less of a chance of it being smashed accidentally.
