HUD Idea

had that idea for my odst HUD but couldn't find much to do about it until you started this up. now I don't want to thread jack but could you do this with an ODST visor, reason I ask it's got a up and lower part and I know the hardest thing to do is make it not bounce on your face, even harder with that visor.

I would assume you could do the same with your design, but I'm not too great with this kind of stuff so your gonna have to ask someone else.

yeah it's weird three days ago I was looking at youtube for how to do this and the next day you start this. odd

While this would be interesting from a personal standpoint, it will do absolutely nothing for the actual costume.

You could always do like I helped a friend do with his Mandalorian. When he activated his rangefinder (it was a small servo that was gauntlet activated), it projected a small image against his visor in the shape of a crosshair over his eye with info around it.

This was accomplished with a clear sheet over his visor with blacklight/UV reactive images on it. Against the black of his visor, it was invisible. When the RF comes down, it activates a small blacklight. That makes the images fluoresce and look like a heads up display projected onto his visor.

That's why I'm going for a cheap idea, that way ifit doesn't work as planned it won't really matter because it was so cheap. But that sounds really cool, what your friend did, that actually sounds a lot like my original idea. But what did you use for the image? Did you scratch something in or use a sticker?

This one looks promising. You could dock your phone on your forearm and run an extra long cable up to the projector mounted inside the helmet somehow.

He scratch-made the image himself. It's a Garrus-like crosshair in the middle (as in the kind on his eye-piece) and then some Mando'a below it (written backwards). There is also a small targeting reticule (the lead reticule from X-Wing alliance) offset from the center.

The main crosshair is red, the offset one is yellow, and the writing in blue.

well he could do that with if he was wanting to show something on the out side too. like a side mounted unit showing a short video or something.

That's really cool and I'd love to do that if I had money, but I'm still trying to go with the cheapest option

same boat man same boat. and you're quote sound like this one.

If you don't start somewhere, you'll never get anywhere. If you don't step forward, you are always in the same place. If you don't ask, the answer is always no. If you don't go after what you want, you'll never get it.

Yeah but I don't want to be spending a lot of money on something that either I will mess up on the hook up or something that won't work at all is the thing

well that one is nice and all but this one is just a beast...

There is just way too much stuff On that HUD, I'd like to stick to traditional halo, not whatever that is. Sorry

Yeah not gonna lie I loved halo legends, but I don't like that HUD because it's nothing like the traditional halo HUD.
