Hughs Odst Build

well Id go by the width of your chest. With any chestpice you scale based on the width of your chest, so that you can move your arms. If you measure from shoulder to shoulder then you wont be able to move your arms around, and your shoulder peices will collide with the chest piece. Basically just use a scrap piece of cardboard, and make it as big as it can get without restricting your arm movement. When scaling a piece you should also watch out for things with seperate pieces, and remember that it measures from the widest part. So on halo reach armor, it wont measure from the shoulders, it will measure from the rib protection and end up too small.

Thanks for the help, but I'm not scaling the ODST Chest Assets or the Chest Piece itself. I'm scaling the ODST Chest Core. I've already scaled the ODST Chest Assets to my body. But before I even get the chance to Pep them, I want to scale then Pep the ODST Chest Core. Some people suggested me to read Extreme Tactics 101's How to Scale Your Armour- Tutorial V.2. Does this tutorial work? What's your take?

hi im pretty new to all this but am having a bit of trouble getting it to fit on a size 5.8" and need help with scaling ty :)

5'8"= 68"
The models are made to fit a 6' person of average stature
6'= 72"
68/72=.944 repeating
The default scale factor on Hugh's files is 10, so 94.4% of 10 is 9.44
So in Pepakura Designer, on any piece you're making of Hugh's, go to 2D Menu, Change Scale, Scale Factor, 9.44 and voila.

But remember that's a rough estimate to scale. There's always more than height when you try to get something to size to you. If you work out a lot and have a large chest small waiste and large arms then your sizing would be different than someone that's over weight and has a larger waiste and someone who is very thin. Your head is another factor all together, two people of about the same height and body size may have a different size heads.

just another lil question but what is the best way to strenghen it and is it worth going on the inside and outside with some pva glue or is there a better way to harden it ty :)

okay... ive some scaling questions and problems. i folded the front piece twice and the first one seems to be a little small and the second to big.
in the first one i can hold my arms parallel in front of me and is 409mm in hight. iam 184cm tall and the scaling tut in the first post say that the proportion are correct. in the second i have problems with my arms but this one looks better on my chest. what do you think... an other between these two sizes, the small one (because of what?) or the big one?

it should be very helpfull if somebody (maybe hugh himself) could post some pictures while he is wearing the core armor.
some diffrent perspectives should help too.

Do I need to do any special printing options if i'm using 8 1/2'' x 11'' card stock? When I printed the pep i used the defaults on the pep program, which was letter paper size. If not, what settings do I use for the helmet?

Will the individual pieces on the chest core fall apart if you try to strengthen it with fiberglass and resin? It seems like it would spit from stress or something because it's not one piece.

Nope, I pep'd my chest core too, and its been strengthened with fiberglass cloth and resin, and it holds up just fine.

Here are some pictures of just the chest core. I don't know if that is exactly how its suppose to fit, but its comfortable.

thanks for the pictures. now i know that my chestcore is a little to tight. i like how you strap the two pieces together. nice work

No problem :D

I'm right around 5'11" so I left everything at its default scale. The only thing that's big on me are the shins.

First off let me just say this is AMAZING!! great job.

second i have two quick question about the main torso:
1. Are the attachments, like what you put on the chest core perfectly lined up, like would i need to re-scale them to fit it.
2. How is the core measured High wise. Sorry but i have run into a many a problem with this issue.

Please answer and thanks again! =D

Hai guys, i was wondering if you could give me a hand on some scalling issues I'm having? The main problem I'm having is the 'Chest core', I've already made one but sadly it turned out to big :(. So, before i go off massacring more trees I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction :].

My chest is 910mm (36 inches) and my height is 164cm.

If any one can help I would really appreciate it, Cherzz.
