hey everyone,

was just looking to grab some feedback from some others while starting on my first full armor set. i have started the mark VI, and have used trial and error so far, already ruined 2 helmets by not knowing what i was doing, but now that i have learned a little and read some really helpful threads, i have a good idea of what steps to take next, however before i start the paint job on my helmet,
i was browsing around and did not see any really good threads on some sanding advice, or installation of the HJC face shield.

so if anyone has any tips, advice or feedback on how its coming along please i could use some constructive criticism.

This is what i have done so far

make the helmet how you want it. see a bump you dont like? sand it off. if you sand and you messed up, put bondo on it again and sand. shouldnt be that hard.the finer the grit, the smoother your helmet will be. dont go to fine though cuz after awhile it just starts to be a waist of time

now will the spray paint fill in alot of the little mistakes? because im not sure i want it to, im looking to add a little battle damage to it.

depends on how small they are. generally no it wont fill in. thats why i spray paint my armer before bondo because i can see the mistakes even more clearly. it also depends on how many coats. the more coats the more it will fill in.

Sick, where do you think a good place to put most of the battle damage is? i was thinking the tips of the visor and a little on the mouth guard.

it all depends on what you want.big scratches on the left side maybe, and a crater from plasma on the top right idk. i dont think i am going to have any battle damage on mine personally. rather have it look nice and clean

Go to any of the major car parts stores and look for a spray can (or two) of "Scratch filling primer." It may also be called "filler" or "High Build Formula." These are designed to fill in minor imperfections like scratches from coarse sandpaper. This primer builds into a thick, easy to sand layer, so it makes sanding out remaining imperfections easier. Good luck.

ill post more pictures as i continue little things here and there, i know the last pictures are a little dark, but there will be more once i install the HJC, and touch up a little

Looks really good! are you going to make the whole suit? and i know what it feels like to go through some pieces and throw some away, i went through 2 chest pieces before i got it sized right LOL. Good luck on the last touches of the helmet!
