Alright, we cut the vent covers and hollowed them out. The idea behind it is that we will be able to punch a hole into the helmet where the vents go and then put the vent covers in. This will allow some air flow and keep us cooler. What do you think?

Breath! Cool air! Come on its not like your sporting a C6 or OSCS clone bucket

Seriously however that should keep you nice and cool. Or at least cut down the fogging a bit.

Airflow is key. We wear costumes a lot and one of the most uncomfortable elements in costuming is the lack of airflow in the helmet. Unless you have something like the Boba Fett, you don't get good airflow.

OSCS helmet? Oh you mean the Ep. III helmet that we let them mold and cast? The clone helmets don't really have any airflow. Especially the ones that we made. They have the full neck area that closes around you neck creating an almost air tight seal (<--slight exaggeration). We will be modifying the Ep. III helmet soon and opening the neck hole up slightly. It still will not allow you to slip the helmet on without being two pieces but it will allow the helmet to stay at a proper angle on your head.

Could use a little more curve to them I think. They should look a little more like corrugated tubes..

Compare with screenshots from the announcement video, and you'll see what I mean.

Yea, the helmet over all is really really good work! but the vents seem like they are going perfectly straight, they should be more curved like Sean's image. But over all, from beginning to end, you did really well on the helmet, this is one of the better ones that have been made recently.

no, ODST. Its a helmet of a marine(think) in halo. google it or i can get you some pics

and i still cant get over how smooth this helmet is.

...no he did mean OSCS...not ODST...we know the difference ;)

...the OSCS as it was called was our Episode III clonetrooper helmet that some friends molded and sold from our master...we never officially came out with our version...

...IMHO it could be that with the slots being cut thru it might be making it appear flatter then it is...it looked pretty good when comparing it to our ref pics...

...try not to your bishopx's feelins yo :(

it has more of a curve in game. more like a tube... you could just sand down the edges to make it curve more.

I figured you weren't done. You've done such amazing work on this so far, I just wanted to be certain that you didn't sacrifice accuracy for function with the air vents..

Excellent work on then BTW, if they work as intended, totally epic.

Yeah....I know....believe me....we are trying to catch every detail. It's all good. I appreciate all the feedback.

Okay....because y'all were crying.... I'm going to show you what we are planning on doing to get the raised ribbed look. We sanded the base vents down to get the smooth contour that we wanted. Now we are attaching the half round styrene strips to the outside to give it the ribbed texture that you guys were talking about. See, we were'nt going to let you down. I only did two because I like it that way.....

....just kidding. That's all I had time to do so far.
