Im going to see if I can build a whole Mark VI suit (Robo pack) from start to finish in two and a half days.

I will post my progress along the way

HAHAHAHA! :D

Well, even if you did stay up for 48 hours, i still don't think anyone could even do it.

FS's torso is like roughly 40 pages even scaled, The Helmet is about 15 or so.
And all of robo's models aren't to rough but i've read a post like this where someone said they were gonna do it in a weekend,
i call it spam or a cry for attention.
But, hey if you are serious, GO FOR IT MAN!
Just let me tell you, if you haven't done Pepakura, you are in for a huge unfriendly suprise, it is extremely time consuming and mind numbing just to cut the pieces out,

consists of

SCALING CORRECTLY
PRINTING
CUTTING (Takes forever)
SCORING (Takes forever)
FOLDING/GLUEING (not bad just mind numbing and frustrating at times)

Let me remind you, in two days you probably couldn't get all the pieces cut out decently even staying up 48 hours. It's highly unlikely to manage to get the rest done decently let alone cut it all out in that time frame.
Just telling you man, i've done pep for a while and it's not something i reccomend attempting to tackle in two days. Not decently anyhow.

So go for it if you are serious.
If you haven't done pep, don't set your goals so high like that, cuz you WILL get frustrated even taking your time.
and consequently if you fail, you will have given up possibly and just wasted bandwith making this topic.

So i hope that was a good pep (excuse the pun) talk, or possibly awakening for you.
Wasn't trying to be mean, i just don't like seeing wasted time or unrealistic posts being made.

EDIT: oh okay, so you are doing just robo's pack,
well it might be possible, not sure about how nicely though.
Oh and BTW that thigh peice, is it put together with tape? If that is scotch tape, you might as well throw the thing away if you are planning on resining your piece, cuz the resin will just eat through the tape. But if you are just assembling and don't plan on going further, never mind about the tape thing. :D

Since you are doing Robo's models i have a little more faith in this, orriginally i thought you were doing Part Robo, Part Fly Squirel.
So I wish you the best of luck!
And take all the other guys advice, be smart and don't do anything that's gonna get you hurt, it's not worth it, if it takes a little longer, that's better as opposed to attempting to finish but getting hurt or doing a bad job.

GOOD LUCK!

I didnt use a translator for the french.. I actually know how to speak 'swiss french'
The Swiss french differs from the actual french french... it's a bit shorter and the accent is different.

For the rest (excluding English Finnish Russian German) i used a translator.
I cant speak all the languages fluenltly tough :p

Aaaah, I hoped you could speak Dutch :( :p

Anyway, like Finnish said, you can see you did it in a hurry.
Right now, you have a shin, a thigh, a bicep done? Don't know if your going to make it if that took you one day. Because, tomorrow you should have: thighs, shins, and biceps. Then you have only 6 hours to complete the helmet, torso, forearms, and boots. But maybe you'll surprise us.:)

Yea it does look like it was a rushed job - you should be careful and worry more about it looking good than how fast you can do it - if it doesn't work out there's always next weekend

hope this is an only a challenge and not to wear cuz it looks warped after hot gluing :)

nice work though it took me 2 hours to build the thigh

ok well I see what looks like tape and in an earlier post he said he had to stop for a sec because he ran out of tape. then someone mentioned hot glue and he said "oh forgot about hot glue. I have a couple sticks in my desk"

Wow, I definitely thought that he was building "Marathon Armor" :p It's actually not a bad idea! Not necessarily the massively impressive time constraint, but an Armor Marathon is actually a really good idea. Things are going pretty slowly my way, so once my rowing season is over (ugh, 1.5 months?) I'm going to NAIL that armor like the bum-itch it is [in a marathon!]. I honestly don't think I could trust my friends to cut stuff for me though...

But enough hijacking on my part: Good luck with the rest of the build! And Godspeed on the chest and helmet.

i hate to be a dismal person, but you better get off this forum and keep building!

if you are saying you will fiberglass and bondo the whole suit in a day, uh.......sure. Maybe a week and its completley done, but not less than 72 hours.

go go go go go!!!!!!

With roughly 7 hours left I have decided to dump the project for obvious reasons.

It doesn't mean it cant be done though, and mark my words it will be done.

Thanks everybody - colmon9

I agree with you on this. I wish I saw this thread earlier, I would have told you that right away. You need to spend quite a bit of time on each piece for it to come out decent looking.

I think this was more of a learning experience than anything.

Thing ive learned.

Glue pwns tape
X-acto knives hurt
Scoreing helps alot
Sitting in the same chair for hours is bad

Casualties

Roll of tape
16 Glues sticks
8 quarts of Christal lite
My right thumb(damn x-acto knife)
