Too bad you can't finish it. I'm definitly going to try this with a friend. Maybe it's possible with 2 persons in 2 days?

There were just to many distractions.

I will be able to do it(including glassing and painting) in 5 days this summer

Holy Crap you seriously cut your thumb off?

I knew you werent gonna get it done though, Good Armor takes atleast 3 months. BlueRealm took 2 months to sculpt his helmet.

ouch.

like i said, give it 7 days, and absolutley no sleep or ANYTHING, and it could be done. It would be next to impossible, but it could be done.

i have been working on my Mc armor and it has taken so long, i know about all the stuff and it takes for ever, good luck.

Yeah, shoot for a week, if you're really fanatical. If not, aim for a month.
It took me a month on the low-res models. High-res would be a challenge even in a week.
And definitely do a few practice pieces before oyu start your marathon.

I think two days is pretty optimistic. I seem to remember spending a good few hours every night for about a week to fold just a helmet, maybe I'm slow though

A helm, if you're skilled, can take possibly three hours to cut, another two to fold up, and two to three to glue. That's eight hours for a helm, at a generous timespan. We'll give you an hour per arm/leg piece, assuming it's low-detail. That's eight hours. And we're not even taking into account the shoulder pieces here.

Torso is going to take you three to four hours. Crotch, probably one or two. Handplates, probably 30mins each. Boots... an hour each.

That's one day completely gone, assuming you don't stop AT ALL. And we'll assume that you do at least the vitals: you take half an hour for breakfast, an hour for lunch, another for dinner, 30mins for a teatime snack, and 30mins total of toilet breaks. That's another three-and-a-half hours gone.

Assuming after THIS you take a very generous 30min break inbetween pieces to clear your table up for the next part, clean up, have a short break and a walk to prevent cramps. That's seven and a half hours gone.

So far you're clocking up 36 hours, given my quite strict timeslots. Low-detail stuff... yes, it's possible. But extremely physically demanding, and to be honest, nobody on this entire forum as the skill needed to pull this off with a decent suit.

You figure it out....

Very well put Primal, and I agree 101%
The one is from the fact that a monkey has made this post, or something odd and unique similar to that.

Like Primal was saying, if working with the low-detail Pep files, you could probably get each piece cut/folded/glued in two to three days. If working with the high-detail files, it would take considerably longer given all the additional (and some very small) folding involved on each piece.

Hell, I've been working with the low-detail HALO 2 Mk VI helmet only so far, but because I'm not just doing up the base model but am double-layering sheet styrene over top of it that's taking much more time than I anticipated. As it stands, I started the helmet back when I first joined this community back in summer of '07, and I'm still not done.

Granted, there have been a number of work-related and personal matters that have come up in that time which have preoccupied a lot of my time and therefore delayed my progress, but the point is that even if I hadn't had to deal with any such delays, if I'd focused solely on getting the helmet done it would clearly take longer than a couple days.

With the high-detail armour, no bloody way. With the low-detail armour, it's doable, but just barely. And you'd have to sacrifice doing pretty much anything else in order to achieve it...
