Not having a lot of movement isn't a huge deal, but you probably want to make sure that you can fully look left and right. Your build looks awesome so far! As for your whole spine situation I think that tubing would work well, but you could maybe even get away with some thin plastic or something for backing.
I think the only thing that will prohibit movement in the suit will be the chin protector. Im planning the make it somewat movable so I will be able to fold it forward if it gets in the way.
Will try and get the spine done pics up before I go overseas

Ok, cool. Maybe you could do a hinged sort of mechanism?

That's convenient! Hopefully that ends up working alright
It should be all good I hope. Fingers crossed :/

Update:
I am finishing up the foamwork on the spine. I was aiming to make each vertibrae indepented from each other this weekend but everything was closed so I couldnt pick up any velcro/elastic.

I have now moved onto the ab plate and have just finished redrawing it. More under armor to come.

...and finally a few people wanted to see the helmet and chest side by side.
So here it is. Please note that none of this has been fitted as of yet.

Nice Christmas tree ya got there! Lol, looks good bro. Helmet in comparison with the torso, looks very well proportionate. Great work Spartan!

Nice! Everything looks exactly like it should right now!

Key words '' Right now''. ahahah

Thank you!

OH GOODNESS! that is one amazing suit!

How did you make the tubing on the forearms?

To create the tubing I cut thin strips of EVA foam and used my dremel to round them off. From there its just a matter of flexing them into position.

Love your build so far man, cant wait to see more! Your foam work is so clean and smooth.

Thanks for the feed back!

So just got back from my New Zealand trip and straight back into the suit. Below is a pic of the completed ab plate.

At this stage all I have left to construct from foam is the under armor hip plates and fingers.
I am also not happy with the scaling of the shin plates so I will be reconstructing them also.

Once I have finished the foam work I will be moving onto glassing the helmet which I must admit I am dreading a lot.
I will post progress pictures as the come.

I've got an MC build goin' and I messed up the hand painted Ab (and the spine), and I need something as good-looking as yours to cover it up, and make the undersuit less akward. could you post the templates for the Ab, so I too can build it? or does the magician never reveal his tricks?
I sure hope you're not a magician...

A Magician? Haha.
Im more than happy to share the spine and the AB plate if people want it. However, this probably goes without saying, but they will need to be scaled correctly based on the persons height.

Also Its not so much the fact that I wont reveal my tricks, its more the fact that its not fit for public consuption!! (I am also not 100% happy with them)

I can send them directly to you or if more people are interested I can try and put them here. (Express your interest people)

Who do we speak to in order to get the files into the database?

oh, yes! please can you send them to me, or just upload the file on this thread? I'd appreciate it tons! it doesn't have to be perfect, I usually modify templates slightly anyway.

Files are here, enjoy
