My Carter build

ok, so shoulder mounting begins. Pictures to follow soon within the hour. The other shoulder will follow soon and most likely two updates tonight.
Edit: mounting and finishing the painting took longer than I expected but it is finally done. As it stands now I think on shoulder is actually heavier if not close to the same weight as my helmet. Mounting I just used thick rondo. To fill in the two shoulders I put cardboard in the opening and the covered it up with rondo which you will see in the pictures.
Here are the fruits of my labor. Tell me what you think:

any thoughts? Definitely going to need some strapping and more padding inside the bicep.

double post, in need of a bump so those watching the thread can see it. Also, what is the best way to stabilize the armor so it doesn't rotate on your limbs? padding im guessing along with anchor points.

dude wow really nice dude it's going good and looking great i looked threw this thread alot like 3 times cause of the great pics dude really really nice job dude looking really good

to stop the rotating but a piece of memory foam on the inside the absorbancy of it grabs your undersuit and stops slippage and rotation

The first commando shoulder which I still have was set to the original scaling which was about 280 I think which is HUGE, so I scaled it down to about 250-260 (no difference really haha) and then I trimmed the sides down which would have impeded on mobility quite a bit. Right now then shoulder mobility is a lot better than expected. The model I used can be found in the Reach files database and is labeled Carter's Shoulders. I just printed off the first four pages which contain the commando shoulder as the other should in the file is inaccurate. If you need me to find the link to the 4shared file just ask and i'll find it really quick. Thanks.

I actually havn't checked walmart for any memory foam yet but will probably get around doing it in the next two weeks when some of the strapping and more padding begins. Hopefully I'll get some paintball gloves and rare earth magnets for christmas and then I can begin working on the torso+strapping. Really hoping for molding supplies along with bondo and resin for christmas along with some visors :D silly but I really want it haha. Thanks for the compliment :D

Love what your doing with your carter dude. Keep it up!

Thanks :D

Thank you all for your support. I like how the commando shoulder turned out with its burns and such along with how mounting came out.

I guess the other possible option (well for weight considerations)
is to print out the pep on foam, and cut out the EVA foam (that should solve the problem of the shield being too heavy once rondo'd)

That is one of the best Carters I have seen so far. I really like your paint job it's awesome. Personally I think you nailed the colors and I'm looking forward to seeing you wearing the full suit soon. Keep up the great work!
