sorry for the double post. but I just finished my chest piece and here it is:
-The fit is pretty much perfect, although its a little bit snug at the bottom.
PS how do you attach the ab plate...?

and one with my cod piece for sizing comparison:

Sizes look perfect! Do your shoulders work with the new chest piece? The ab plate is usually attached after both pieces are hardened. You can use some webbing so it can move independently of the chest piece. This way you'll be able to sit, move, and breath without feeling too restricted.

SO MUCH BETTER!! I'm very glad to see that you stuck with it, and did end up re-doing the chest, that means that you REALLY have the patience required!! Awesome job!

THAT looks better! WAY better!

Bexi is correct with regards to the ab plate. I used webbing to "hang" the ab plate from my torso.

FYI: "Double Posting" is OK as long as its an update for YOUR thread.

KUDOS! :)

sized perfect thanks to your help with the scaling! thanks! Annnd I have only done one shoulder and it was pretty large to begin with, so i'll probably end up rescaling it anyway. I doubt that the current large one would fit with the new chest piece though-

Yeah me to! It was totally worth it, - so glad I didnt stick with that huge piece.

thanks :D. and I will make sure not to attach the ab plate now

little mini update that I ordered my undersuit and gloves a couple of minutes ago. I went with:

this undersuit (which is the same one that longshot posted a pic of) in a size small.

and these gloves (size small also,)

Im goingto start on the handplates soon but I am out of my cardstock, so I have to pick up more of that this week.

Also I thought I'd just start casually keeping track of how much I've spent on this build so far so...
$20- package of 110 lb cardstock
$49- undersuit
$17- gloves
$25- shipping
countless hours pepping?? - priceless
= $112 thus far.

Wow You're build is coming along nicely. The chest plate looks amazing I can't wait to how this all comes together.

Just wondering- Are you left handed... Never been wrong before- lol anyways keep up the good work!! And where did you buy your undersuit from? I can't find any of them kind...

lol I am left handed, howd you know?? And I bought the undersuit from amazon. They have a ton on there (I searched "motocross suit" or "body armor" etc) Theres about 4 or 5 options under $90. Also on page 24 of this thread I have pics, prices, and links to 4 undersuits. Hope that helps!

I have no clue- I just know when someone is left handed... call it a 6th sense if you will-- anyways =P ya I seen them on page 24... I think I will get the same one- I kinda like the wow one though.. but Longshot seems to know what he is doing... so I probably go with his idea.
Hope your armors going great! I'm about t start pepping my Mark 5 out here soon- Best of luck...even if your left handed... No one here will hold it against you :) Haha Laterz, Nogood

Oh, Thanks for the sizing picture on your armor! I think I am going to make my wife a suit for this coming halloween! She is very small and 5'2 .. so this will be tough. I'll probably rescale everything twice, but at least I know a good starting point and maybe I'll get lucky.

Thanks for sizing refrence :)

Haha ill take your word for it. The wow one and the one that I got are actually basically the exact same. The only difference I see is that its about 3 dollars less for the wow one and a little padding is colored differently. I only went with the TMS one because I had longshot's reference size.

And im glad that you can use my scaling for your wife's suit! The height difference is definitley a lot but at least you know where to start from

"Okay- First Longshot is my best friend.. not really, but he does have an amazing suit-- so I'm going to get the TMS one, but get a medium... Even though I'm 30 waist and 5'10... I'm going with medium..."

And annanymous are you going to use this helmet by "Slyfo" http://halocostuming.wikia.com/wiki/Pepakura_File_Index

I have made this helmet.. Under Mark VI : Normal Detail Parts
I believe it was the right size for anyone... I just printed and cut it out... I didn't rescale it...
" This may be a noob question but do helmets really need to be resized all that much? "
I am making another one right now... so I'm pepping it out... I think it will work for my wife.. maybe not... Just wondering what helmet your going with, thought that might be helpful

Hmm Ill have to look into making that one. I dont know how big or small my head is compared to a normal sized head but Ill just measure it. Thankyou

On a side note, I hit up walmart today and got a bunch of supplies for resining and bondoing my build.

Unfortunetly it also happenned to snow about 6 inches outside today and is about 35 degrees out. I know that resin requires at least 60 degrees in order to cure properly so I plan on trying to set up a heater and work area thing in my garage so that I will be able to work on this during the winter!

Someone went on a shopping spree:)
Do you have a Harbor Freight near you if not you can order online... but it will be well worth your money.
They have 36 brushes for 8$
And 100 gloves for like 10$

Ben Streeper gave me that Site so credit to him:)
