Nice job on the helmet!

Glad to see my organization method put to use....did it help you at all? lol

Thanks! I remember seeing your thread a while back and was like hey thats an excellent idea! I have lost smaller pieces before in the process of transferring them from my house to my girlfriends house so that was a huge help. I also like how you can divide the pieces up by pages so that if you're ever stuck you can refer back to the pep file and know exactly where the piece should be, so you're not scanning the thing for an hour. It helped a ton! Thanks for the inspiration! :)

Helmet looks great. Scale looks spot on. Clean looking pep. Should be easy to harden and sand into the perfect shape.

It's looking sheeeeeeer amaaaaaaaaazing!!!
Very cleanly done!

Would you consider sharing your modification files? I'm wanting to do a foam noble 6 armour after finishing my pep/resin/rondo/bondo H3 HD build. Or start it as a side proyect to be able to change and not get bored of one proyect. Bored or fed up.

Btw. I've NEVER done a foam build EVER. Any recommendations?

Again AMAZING looking stuff!
I envy you in a positive way!

Thanks TK, for the files I used I went to L3X's file thread. He has some amazing stuff in there you should check it out! As for recommendations, this is my first foam build so I can't give you any tips yet, but I can suggest that you check out the other great builds that have used foam. Lil Tyrant has done amazing work with foam, and so has Roxy Roo Roo. Drack has some excellent tutorials as well. I would suggest reading through a couple to get an idea of what you want to do then dive in headfirst! Good luck on your build!

UPDATE!!!!!

So now that finals is over I was able to get some work done on my build. I was able to apply 2 coats of resin onto my helmet and will look to fiberglass the inside tomorrow. I'm thinking after the layer of glass on the inside i'll slush coat with rondo for a more comfortable fit and a sturdier feel. Here are some of the pics!

After the first coat of resin was applied

can't forget the shot with the respirator!

and here are the pics of the helmet after the second coat of resin was applied

thinking i'll possibly add a third coat of resin tomorrow then fiberglass it...just to make sure no warping occurs. Hopefully i'll be back with an update tomorrow. Until next time....

Thanks again TK! That is a sliced DMR! I have another thread for that build though. There's a link in my signature below. Feel free to check that thread out as well as my completed Carter build! Thanks for the words of encouragement!

Helmet came out looking really good. Keep it up.

Thanks Spartan_127!

UPDATE!!!!!

Alright guys and gals, I've been able to glass the helmet so i'm just waiting for that to harden before applying a slush coat of rondo to the inside of the helmet. Here's a pic!

It looks like it may have warped a bit...but not too bad. Don't think it requires any fixing.

And also...I got my girlfriend to start her build!!! Unfortunately shortly after completing her two hand plates she burnt herself with the hot knife :(.

I never thought of using a "hot knife". What is it? Just a knife attachment to a soldering pen? Looking good so far =]

Also digging the sliced DMR :D

Though just a bit of a heads up... You may want to crop that last picture a bit. lol Sorry for picking it out, really, but hey... Just trying to help!

HAHA thanks Statyk! I totally missed that :eek. The hot knife I have is basically just a multi tool that heats up. There are a bunch of other attachments that allow for wood burning, soldering, etc. It's pretty handy and definitely saves your blades. The knife doesn't even have to be that sharp to cut since the heat helps the knife glide through the foam like a hot knife through butter :p. Glad you like the sliced DMR!

UPDATE!!!!

So i was able to rondo the two sides of the helmet and picked up more bondo body filler today as I ran out last night. I also was able to finish the knee pieces last night. Here are the pics!

When I poured the rondo the second time I didn't mix in enough hardener for the resin so it took forever to cure...I ended up slush coating the helmet then leaving it for a while thinking that it would cure ok on it's own...unfortunately this happened

the rondo pooled into the pocket and looks a lot worse than it does in the picture. This is what it's supposed to look like

guess i'll have to sand out the excess...but anyway thats my update for today! More to come hopefully soon!

Looking great dude! This is one of those builds that I just can't WAIT to see finished!

And just a quick tip, don't be afraid to use some foamies to cover the seams on the shins, especially the kneecap area. But otherwise, great job!

If the weight is balanced on the helmet then I would wast to much time cleaning out the rondo. Padding will covering everything on the inside anyways. Now to your foam work on the knee's, Awesome. Nice clean looking work.

Thanks for the tip! I actually bought some craft foam earlier but didn't get around to applying them yet. I'll be sure to soon though! Glad you like the build! I hope I'll be able to meet your expectations on this build :p.

Well the thing was that I was planning on using that void for storage for batteries for lights and fans (possibly a speaker system)...so grinding will be the only option for now :(. Glad you like the foam work! Hope this suit comes out as good as yours did!
