Well its been a while since I put anything up but now that the Halo 4 game assets have been thrown up I guess I can do some more stuff. I possibly wont do the strait game rips simply because they are really undefined, I guess would be the word, and have next to no detail (But I still may for test files). But anyway I have added the Halo 4 Soldier file up on the first post and below, along on the asset page!

You might have a slight mis-match between the file depicted in the image and the link.

Hey your unfolds look really good, I have one or two tips to make em even better. Before you even start unfolding, right when you open the file, go settings -> other settings.
Near the bottom there should be a check box that says "Hide almost flat folding lines" check the box and set the threshold to about 155-160
This should get rid of every unnecessary fold line (the ones that just end up getting smoothed out later) and results in a much cleaner unfold and pep.

Also once you finish an unfold (or even half way through one) click 2D Menu -> Join Adjacent Edges, put the number that pops up to .60 for pep unfolds and 1.5 for foam unfolds

I hope this helps make these even better!

Well right now I have two more unfolds to do. One halo 4 mk VI (Halo 3 style) and a warrior. I'll try the two tips and see how it looks. Thanks for the tips!
 
Well its been a few hours and I have some things done and redone.

First: I tried out Rhinoc's tips and it worked out really well so yes I did redo the Soldier and have updated the link.

Second: Thanks again to Ted I have the Warrior and Mk VI (Halo 3 flavor) unfolded as well. However the floating faces on the Mk VI had some issues and by the time version 4 came around they were just two floating faces and left a note of how to fix them in the file

Wasup, NMYes. Question. Wanted to get your thoughts on the differences between the new and old pep file of the warrior helmet. Which one do you feel to be more accurate?

The Warrior that NMY unfolded is straight from the game, so...
 
I get what youre saying. You mean the scratch built by Monkeyfuj or the game rip cleaned up by Ted right?

I think it depends on how much work youre willing to put into it. For Monkeyfuj's model you have a really good base pep with detail that Ted's doesnt, like on the back of the helmet for example. However with some foamie magic for the floating face's Ted's would also be a good base with some easy bondo smoothing later. If I was going to build a soldier helmet I would do Ted's. It has a ton less micro folds in it and tont take as long to get it out of Pep stage. Hope that answers your question.
 
I was thinking, more on the lines of just turning the pep file from low depth to a high depth file. instead of adding the extra details by other means. Micro folds, aren't really a big deal for me.

Well then I guess I would use Monkeyfuj's if I was looking for HD. It would still need some work of course, I think he modeled it pre-release though im not quite sure. I havent taken a good look at the game's helmet either so It might be as HD as it gets. You should pm Monkeyfuj and ask.
 
So its been a while and I finally have an update consisting of four unfolds! Three By Crimmson and on by Ted. Ted had cleaned up the CIO but I had forgotten to reduce the threshhold but im still uploading it because ive had this upload planned for a bit too long. So here they are!
