the models warp because of the glue. more detail means more poly's which means more tabs and more glue = more warping

Thats why my odst rolled. When i did the sides it look fine but i did the top in a separate peace it looked like a tube when i was done

yeah, when I folded mine, before I added the sides the top rolled up like sonic the hedgehog

with the amount of spikes and stuff.. is this actually moldable (real word?).. Just looks like it'd be REALLY hard
you could mold it, it would just take a lot of time and good mold making skills.

You can mould almost anything. Personally Id cut the master up and mould the crest separate, but you could do it as one piece (two halves, front and back, seams along the outer edges of the backwards facing spikes.

do i earn an hayabusa model? or a cookie? anything? scout helm done :D
it wasnt too hard, just annoying on the miniscule lines i didnt cut.

sorry to take your glory away Sigma, its a big day for me. Plus, I dont have the experience to make something like your handiwork.

We shall both bask in each's glory :p

VERY hard. Have you not been reading the topic *at all*?

If NZ-TK is unwilling to release the model, it's because it's too difficult for people to assemble. I believe this has been said multiple times.

The next person to ask in this topic whether or not the file will be released, or how hard it is, will be reported. There is simply no excuse for not reading the topic, and if you're too lazy to do that then you honestly don't deserve to be here.

how come sigma assembled it

Have you not read the topic? NZ-TK shared the file with SIGMA ONLY to get an idea of how difficult the construction would be. And Sigma only got it because he's an expert at Pepakura-based models.

Now, will you PLEASE take your blatant idiocy off my planet, and come back when you can read the topic? Or, better yet, please just don't bother posting until you have enough sense to think before saying something stupid.

Chill your jets, dude- it's just a noob. It happens.

Sigma got it because I had seen his previous work. He had demonstrated his ability to start and finish a project, and I knew it would take someone of considerable skill to pull it off. Also, I knew I could trust him not to go "screw you NZ" and leak the model. At the moment, the hayabusa model is sitting in my hard drive waiting to be be reworked. it is still incomplete, it is not yet a stage where I am happy to release it. It will happen but, I have a life outside of modelling, A lot of my spare time is spent sculpting, and I have a couple of modelling commissions that need done first (you should see what I'm working on... its gonna be sweeeet :p), before I can get back to providing free stuff for the community. I hope you all understand. Also don't forget, at some point the halo 3 modding guys might release their model extraction tool (if it exists) so using my work may become "non-cannon" anyway. I like to think the stuff I've provided so far is good enough to be considered accurate enough for use as a base though.
Also, @ Weyland, relax mate, like Vrogy says, just a noob, we were all in his shoes once, reading threads, trying to piece together exactly what's going on in this wacky forum.

Nicely said Vrogy. Bit off topic but I feel I should apologise to you for having a similar dig to the guy above in a certain other topic. (you'll know what I mean) ;)

Oh and Sigma, it's been said but your Hayabusa is legendary.

Same answer three times on the same page - NZ-TK, I truly respect that some people are either too new to know the correct procedures, or have some sort of mental hinderance. However, nothing excuses somebody asking the same darned question despite the answer being readily available. So, I'm sorry, but no - I'm not going to just smile and let the little kid smile his way through this one. If we all went around asking pointless questions instead of looking for the information ourselves...

...

Actually, scratch that, this is exactly what 7/10ths of this forum does anyways, and that's why it's so wacky. I retract my statement. In any case - kids don't learn if they aren't taught, and by heck, if I have to put Borg exoplated foot up rectum to make it happen, then so be it, because with all respect, I'm rather tired of people patting the children on the back and nursing them along. It achieves nothing but complacency and laziness.

Point to stand: for the final time. There be no Hayabusa for you, little nublet.

Thanks guys. Once I finish fixing the symmetry on the vents, I'll mold it and let you guys check out the final product. :D

How are the viney/flame details going? I want to make one solely to sculpt the crest detail.

Lol whenever I tell someone how I'm making the MC suit, they ask me, "Thats cool! Are you gonna do hayabusa?" and I have to say no. Not asking for sympathy or pity, or trying to weasel the model out of you, just thought I would share. And I know that just because you aren't releasing the file not, it doesn't mean I can't make a hayabusa helmet. I just too busy/lazy to start making my own.

Now...uh....by final product you mean the Actual Helmet or the file? Just kidding. You arent gonna release the file to those who want it yet.....

but i will want to see the final helmet, it sounds nice

nothing is impossible. its just not certain. if the people are ready to invest time and money and hard work into the helm, then so be it. but seriously, this file will seperate the chaff from the wheat, and the boys from the men.
