I am planning on building a scaled model of Halo 3's Pelican, and am looking to see if anyone has or can create a detailed breakdown of the entire ship (interior, cockpit, landing gear, etc.) in pepakura. It's really complex, and the files that I have found here thus far just don't have the detail I am looking for. Any help would be much appreciated.

I know someone had the pepakura version of a low detailed Pelican. But I don't think it had a cockpit and everything. Might be complex to build...

I'll try to find it.

you could try halomods.com or HBO for the .3ds files from the game, but i think its halo 2. Not much of a difference, but it is kind of detailed.

check the pep database for the vehicle packs- it should be in there.

Thanks, I have gotten the vehicle pack from the "pepakura download database thread" (http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?pg=3&fid=2572), but it isnt quite to the detail I am hoping for.

Good Ref screen grabs would be helpfull too

Kewl... looking forward to seeing that, smilie ;)

I'm interested in putting together one of these myself, but I wanted to ask anyone who's built one of these, just what scale is it in? How long is it assembled? o_O

Its the same model somone just posted but ive gutted all the detail from the inside because you dont need it. Also ive removed all the ity squares, it still has plenty of detail, and it looks good, i just have to unfold it now :p

EDIT: To save the file I need an unlocked version of pepakura. can somone send me a keygen please. I am aware that this is illeagl. but i only need it for this file. When im done i will remove it from, my system, otherwise i cannot export the file.

Is it possible to get a version with all the inside detail? That's what I am looking for.

Yes but its almost, impossible to pepakura, thats why ive modified the model to make it more user friendly.

I made a flying version of the Pelican for a flight-sim called X-Plane. It's made from the H2 in-game model, so it's dimensionally perfect inside and out. See it here. (you'll need the flight-sim to view it, but the demo download is free.)

Along the same lines, has anyone here successfully extracted any models from Halo 3? I want to make a model of the Hornet for the flight sim too, and I could really use the 3D model to work from. Any suggestions would help.

Check. I snapped a dozen screen shots to help with interior details.

Well, that's good to hear, but how does that answer my particular question (see quote in quote)? o_O

Probably a common question, but I took several snap shots of the pelican for ref. but I have no idea how to upload them from the Xbox too my computer. Anyone know how to do that (do I need Xbox live to do it)?

I printed out the pelican 3D model that is shown above. It took me almost two hours to cut the whole thing out, and it may take me longer glue it all together. There are no directions on the site, so it may take more time figuring out where some parts go. Some are pretty obvious, others are not. It looks like it was a pepakura creation, same style layout. But it's not a H3 pelican. Not too sure of it's scale (exactly), but it's a little over foot long.

Good... that answers part of my question, at least. I should now be able to determine the actual scale by comparing the model's length to the real-world dimensions. That'll end up answering the second part to my question. Thanks for the info! :D

As for your question, regarding your Xbox, I'm afraid I have absolutely no clue about that...
