Pepakura Requests

For the most part it's been coming along smoothly. The tip/cap of the guard handles could be a little tricky. Only thing that is a more definite need would be to segment the blade a bit more. I can cut it at the tip where it tapers, but the lines run along the length of the blade for the rest of it, and even scaling it down to maybe 2/3 the scale it was set at (putting it at about 2 1/2 ft when it was originally close to 4'), the blade still wouldn't fit on one sheet of paper. If the remaining part could be cut in half or thirds, one cut above the notches and the other about halfway between the notches and the taper, it would fit easily. Haven't really gotten into the hilt yet, but it looks like it will go over easily enough.

I'll see about splitting the blade into segments tomorrow or monday.

Though "3d Menu -> Edit Mode -> Edit Model -> Divide Edge" may do the job in the interrim. I'll do an actual polygon split though soon. If you want to tinker with Divide, remember to set "Settings -> Other Settings -> Threshold = 180" which will display all edges on the model.

All the "edit mode" stuff is grayed out for me, which is odd as I do have it registered. Actually, all the options under "3D model" aside from the middle section (from "turn no/off light" to "view setup") and "Show Object list" are grayed out for me. Basically all it lets me do is unfold, add a texture skin, change print settings, and reset the model view. In a way, it's probably for the best because I have no real experience with 3D model editing despite at one time having aspirations of working in the gaming industry. I'm not in a huge rush for this, as I said before. Have a couple other models to unfold by request and still haven't even finished pepping my Rogue helmet (which has been sitting on my desk for at least 2 months now).

If the model is already unfolded, you need to undo the unfold in order to get access to the 3d stuff.

Anyone know if there are models available for lightbringer armor set?

http://www.wowhead.com/item=30996#modelviewer shoulders, however, one shoulder has a hammer and the other a book.
http://www.wowhead.com/item=30990#. chest, for the blue sash part, I'll probably use cloth for that
http://www.wowhead.com/item=30897#. belt
http://www.wowhead.com/item=30993#. pants
http://www.wowhead.com/item=32243#. boots
http://www.wowhead.com/item=30982#. gloves.

maybe if someone can figure out how to make a non-moving valan'yr model possible, that would be awesome.

Howdy folks, I'm still new to this site, so please forgive me if I go about this the wrong way, the etiquette is a little different here than any of the other places I've been. But, is there a model available for the combat rifle from Deus Ex: Human revolution?
Looks like this: http://images.wikia.com/deusex/en/images/3/34/Combatrifle-conceptart.png

If there is, awesome, I'll look around. If there isn't, then whatever model there is will work. I don't need the internal (cause screw that noise, right?). I'd be happy to compensate the modler and unwrapper with designs of a custom nature.

I think this is every marine armor in the game, http://www.mediafire.com/download/aowb617g4ycf5xe/storm_marine.obj , they aren't separated or worked on but It is a start. if you want it game accurate they would need to be modified to have the details that they add with the materials, shaders etc,. but at least you have a start.

this is in the file it is about 49mbs
marinearmor.jpg
except for the recruit leg, I opened the file up with the recruit leg I was working on

Is there any way you could post this up as a PDO file? For some reason pep cant open the OBJ file, or am I just doing something wrong??

Hey has anyone done anything with the ricochet armor ? I saw that the database had the other 3 armor pack suits all finished from head to toe but no ricochet. I thought I saw that someone was working on it in an older post but I may be wrong . The shoulder is pretty much all I wanted to see, but the helmet also is pretty awesome .

Pep designer should be able to import OBJs no problem. I know it's corny, but if you grab the makerware software off their site (free) it can read STL and OBJ files fairly reliably, so it can be a good litmus test if there is anything wrong with the OBJ itself.

My experience with files over 10mb being opened with pep is a no go especially this file, most of the time they won't even open and crash, my experience only. Now, this particular file the models are all overlapped on top of each other, you would need to open it with a 3d model program and separate them clean them up and then export them to pep. Right now I am working nights and my daughters birthday is this weekend. What I have done before is pick what I want, delete the rest and save it under a different name. This is the only way I can help you right now.

Edit. If you get to open and unfold it, it would cause a big headache for you ,as I believe some of the models need to be mesh welded

Okay. I know that a lot of people are probably really busy, what with halo-ween and all, but does anyone know of a a sliced halo 4 sniper rifle? I can't find one.

Additional Info
I'm requesting these models to be in a format that can be printed on a 3D printer. I would like the model to be in two or three separate pieces that I can put together after printing. The first of the three models would be the blade itself, the second being the wrist mount that is the elite's hand plate, and the third being the fabricated attachment to the plating that has a handle for me to hold on to and a wrist band to keep the whole piece on my arm.

I can offer as many additional reference images you want.

Additional Info:
I search for a talented 3D designer, who wants to spend his time on this forearm. i know, that monkeyfuj already build this forearm, but there are some points that arent good enough and only one file to choice is a little annoying. after 1 year of halo 4 there is still a huge lag of files. i can offer in-game screenshots as references and fat-hi555 worked with my references as well, but he seems to be inactive.
i have some good ideas for the details and i hope that "we" can achieve a simple and detailed file for pepakura.

pls: PM me if you want to help us with this file.

Hey guys. I got a pep request. I ran a search on the forums but I didn't see any results for it. Anywho, I'm trying to make a Spartan armor suit. Not a Halo Spartan, but an actual greek soldier Spartan suit. I'm trying to see if there are any pep files for both the helmet and the cuirass, but so far I haven't seen any. If anyone knows where I can find some pep files for this or if anyone is willing to make the pep file for me, please let me know asap. I'd really appreciate it.

Generally pepakura is for things you can't normally buy and need to make yourself (halo suits that aren't all fabric). The spartan torso armor is a mold of a muscular torso. The reason I bring this up is that it would be rather difficult to pep organic shapes like a human torso, and you may be better off buying one, or molding a particularly muscular friend's torso to get something a bit nicer looking. All pepakura'd organic pieces I've seen have been mediocre at best, and you could get something much nicer from a non pep/foam method really.

As for the helmet, I did a quick google search (it will yield much better results than the forum search) and got this link:
http://www.4shared.com/file/228712900/e642b80/LeonidasHelmetv2letterunfolded.html

Which looked to be an okay model from this thread:

I've seen the lid around before, it's my big priority. I'm not sure why but I just love it. The issue though is all the builds and such for it that I've seen are all dead threads and long lost files that have no source any longer. If anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, that's what I figured too. I mean I knew the helmet would be rather easy to pep but for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to make a muscled cuirass. And I've never tried using foam or a cast (nor do I even know how to do so, but I'm always open to learning if someone could direct me to a website or a link on how to learn casting a mold or using foam) so I figured I'd give it a shot and try to see if there was a pep file for it since I've used pep before. But yeah, I'm probably just gonna save me the trouble and just buy me a muscle cuirass. Even though I still wanna learn how to cast a mold and use foam, I want this costume to be perfect. But the helmet itself I feel I can make. And on that note, thanks for the pep. I appreciate it :)
