Been working on my softcase on my thigh in prep of another con where i wont have a handler.
Its cotton canvas, i added a zipper pocket and key ring to the inside. The Y-shape bukle is styrene and worbla.

Before weathering:

Im still working on the thigh attachment.

Not a big update or anything, but after the con ive been comparing my pics with the game model and found areas of improvement. mainly the legs. I know the game model is impossible and being a girl my thighs aint gonna look perfect but i wanna try some trompe l’œil and make my boots a decent amount bigger. I also wanna get some platform boots so i can be tall too. ( i need recomendations there though) and maybe make the thighs smaller, i might not need to completely rebuild them. Also my belt could stand to be smaller too.

Holy has it been a minute, figured I should post an update even though it’s been slow from cons happening.
Here’s the attachment for the soft case, it’s just styrene, worbla and foam superglued to the thigh, nothing too fancy.

I’ve also been working on the new boots. I bought some demonia shaker 52s and made spandex boot covers for them, I’ve gotta rebuild the armour so it fits the boots. New shins and knees are almost done fibreglassing.

I also released a new video finally

Other than that, I’ve just been repairing a few things from the cons and making stuff more comfortable. It’s pretty good already but it’ll be even better soon haha.

Here’s a cool pic I edited of a few of us from otafest.

The new shins are done and theyre so much bigger than the last ones. Still all fibreglass built them the same way as before

ive also started the backpack, its just missing the tube part and a strapping solution. Made of heavy cotton duck cloth.

Finished the backpack, made the lightsaber tube thing and added weathering.
Made the knife with an mdf core, resin printed handle and styrene blade. The sheath is made of worbla, foam and styrene. Its just a friction fit, no magnets.

Someday ill get a new phone and finish the ugps

Nice work! I had to go look up what Worbla was. With a working temp of 195*F, if you left a worbla item in a car on a hot summer day, would it warp your part or make it stick to things? I've done a lot of knife sheaths from Kydex and was planning on using it for some cosplay parts, but I always have to order it online. Looks like local craft stores carry worbla.

In a hot climate ya it would probably get sticky. i dont use worbla very often and i wouldve bought kydex if i didnt already have some.
I layered 2 peices of worbla to get a good thickness and where i am it rarely gets very hot. Though i still wouldn't want to leave it in the car.

That backpack looks fantastic. I'm trying to find a facsimile, but the best I can find is waist bag with some bags stuck to the sides. Putting off making it, but I think I may need to bite the bullet on that.
Do you have any pictures of the patterns you used? I'm trying to figure out the logistics of the lower segment of the bag.

The new boots are done, they’re built over demonia shaker 52, 4" platforms make me the same height as the marines i hang out with T.T
The boot cover is spandex with a stair tread as the sole and added 1" to the toe length so they look proportional with my new massive shins. Then I glued foam to the toe for details, the heel and top armor are removable so I can slide the cover off. Heel armor is foam. The handle and top armor are fibreglass.
And I was able to go off-road in these though walking downhill was a little freaky. They’ll be perfect for conventions.

This is incredible. My favorite part of the whole build has to be the paint job and weathering effects that just make it feel used and blend in with the real world (the photography of the shots on the front page of this thread plays into that too and amplifies the quality) - I see a lot of fantastic costumes from here and from places/groups like the 501st, though those costumes generally look a little too pristine (they still blow my mind and are of top-notch quality though) most of the time. This, however, has a very realistic worn look to it that makes a set of sci-fi armor mesh well when designed IRL.

PerniciousDuke Oh ya its real simple.
Theres a bunch if stretchy straps. Middle one keeps the phone secure against the frame. A small one just works like a hinge that i threaded through a slit i cut in the plastic. The big strap velcros inside the forarm and holds it all together.
