Recommendation For Waist Construction

What methods would you guys recommend for building the waist? The two ways I am picturing are leaving the segments separate and connecting it in the style of a belt or gluing all the segments together and sliding it on like pants? Because I have no clue which would work better.

This is what I did for the waist

I glued some straps using High-temperature glue sticks on the foam, large enough for my belt to go through the loops.

I hope this helps, if you have question ping me, I'll try to answer back quickly

Thank you this really helps, especially the visual!
I’ve been thinking about this a lot too, but I’m waiting until I get started on the undersuit since it will add thickness between my waist and the strap. I’ll make an adjustable nylon strap and buckle belt, but I still want the pieces to look cohesive.

my cod piece is made form foam and is one flexible piece. It opens at one side to I can put it on. All I have to do is undo the Velcro, wrap it around my waist, and then do up the Velcro. I think you will find that having to step into it will be tedious, especially if you want to go to the bathroom while you're in suit.

For my belt piece i have uses a tactical belt with each part of the belt its own piece. i have created loops on the belt pieces for the belt to run through then you just pop the belt on ant then it looks as it should. hope this helps, can show images if needed

Yes please, the photos would be greatly appreciated. There's no such thing as to much reference material!

the nylon rope is attached with velcro down the outside of the armour pieces and at the top is a loop that the belt runs through. i used superglue for the loop and a mix of hot glue and staples for the velcro on the nylon. im going to be experimenting with this as i have printed thigh pieces now

Wanted to show the end result of my waist piece. It's separated into 4 sections the front, the two side and the butt plate. The butt plate is attached to the sides via velcro straps that are held in place by hot glue. Then I use parachute clips to attach the front piece to the sides. It looks a bit wonky at certain angles but I think it turned out pretty good.
