You could always make the functional assault rifle first, then getting your friends to help (With the help of good ol' assault rifles)
A4 sized paper is a little bit different than regular 8.5X11" sheets. If you want the templates to fit on a sheet of 8.5"by11", go into a pepakura window, select file, then go to paper configuration, then go to paper type, select 8.5 by 11. Also, to get everything on one page, go to the margins, and put all of them on the lowest setting.
