But, they said Rookie was the one survivor from some planet.

Check the rifle and the armor, chest plate looks very close to Mark V. Only ones who aren't wearing it are "Special ones" like the demo guy and what not. Also a huge improvement in the actual face.

Looks familiar, doesn't it? ;)

Now, I wouldn't show this otherwise, but I was shocked at the resemblance.

Back in January when Kai was beginning our concept art, he showed me this rough of our "Evac" combat scene. The helmet is a dead-on for the new Mk.V!

I think he may have taken a lot of inspiration from the Cole Protocol cover :D

Just a quick thought. Some of those soldiers cannot be SPARTAN-IIs. http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Spartan_II Within Hasley's program, there were only 150 candidates, seventy-five of those were selected, and thirty-three would complete the augmentation. I believe that we are looking at a new set of SPARTANS. Possibly, several SPARTAN-IIIs. (They were augmented enough to wear MJOLINOR I believe.) The problem is the timeline. At the time of the Onyx incident, there were only three teams of SIII on the planet. The location of the rest are only alluded to, but onyx happened at least 20 years after Reach.... However, I have faith that Bungie will settle all questions.

Cheers!

Edit: Whoops just realized that I meant that the SIIIs came 20 years after the SIIs... Sorry about that.

Also, the Cole Protoccol takes place before Mark V MJOLNIR came out, they used Mk IV in the Cole protocol, and all the Spartans on reach had Mk.V

Wait, wait wait, Onxy only happened 2 months after Reach. And I dont the S-IIIs could even wear MJOLNIR, a lot of the augmentations were skipped due to three factors, death ratio, cost, and time, making them less powerful in every area. I forgot which book, but they tested MJOLNIR with a marine wearing, it, with the neural interface all he had to do was think about moving his arm, he did so, and the bones in his arm shattered.

New idea came up from Bungie.net forums is that the newcomer is Tom-292B from Operation TORPEDO The one of 2 only SPARTAN IIIs to survive it. Seeing as OPERATION TORPEDO was on Pegasi Delta and Jorge says "Didn't realize anyone survived Pegasi Sir?" Which means it could very well mean its Tom.

I don't think any of these are SPARTAN-IIIs.

I think the new Battle Rifle and Sniper Rifle look pretty sweet, as does the sniper :D

the noble team could be from the original spartan 2 or maybe your unidentified guy (you) is a spartan 1? note to all.. spartan 3's were not in reach at all. if they were they would be noticed. also all spartan 3's were teens when they get shipped to their missions. none of them usually survive their missions. no spartan 3's that i can confirm in this game. please lets not talk about spartan 3's they have no value in this game untill bungie says so. spartan 3's do not have a place in this game.. stop the random speculation about it... also spartan 2's there is some that arent mentioned in books or other games the exact nubers arent really understood.

edit remember we are back in time maybe their is some connection that bungie hasnt announced about some of the characters.. like the connections between books and sorts.

Just added to the OP that Jorge does look like he was in one of the leaked screenshots. Anyone who has them saved can check. Won't post the actual screens, though.

EDIT: just noticed, in the E3 trailer, someone says "Contingency has been declared, all units mobilized and ready." Then immediately after, Kat-320 says, "This is Sierra-320, prepped for combat insertion." But in the premiere trailer, she doesn't say anything immediately after. Just thought I'd point that discrepancy out.

They're all up now in the link posted above :) Now to see what I can model from them.

I saw that too, other than the size the backpack and detail on the top of the helmet seem to match up with the leaked images.

After downloading the video I can say without a doubt the EVA is scratched into the helmet. It is easy to see in HD.

Yes Reach would be taking place either immediately before or during Halo C.E.

This would make the amount of time from Halo Reach to Halo 3 equal no more more than about 1.5 years. So this does not take place 20 years before Onyx, as the crisis on Onyx took place during Halo, in fact the crisis was caused by Johns/Truths actions in the games.

In fact we can narrow down the event timeline even more.... John returned from the first Halo ring (Halo C.E.) and went to the ruins of Reach and fought there. Not long afterwords Kelly is Spartan-napped by Halsey and taken to Onyx where the crisis is already happening.

So if the game goes by the books, there will not be S-IIIs.

One question is, are ANY of these Spartans anybody we have heard of or are they all new? If they are all new where have they been? Why were they not mentioned in another book? Especially First Strike? In First Strike the Spartans were split up into teams with letter designations. At least one team was wiped out, but I do not remember an "N" or "Noble" or any other name with an N in front. This may be a case of Bungie stretching canon to allow for new characters, if only to have a story that is not already known.

Yeah, the S-III speculaton is getting somewhat bothersome. I noticed that the skull is scratched in too. I'll add that to the OP.

With the light you can't really tell if the Lt's armor is grey, and I'd like a new character or even better if you could name the SPARTAN yourself. Also, the grey team's armor has a little visor extension over it, lt's doesn't. Havn't read cole protocol yet however, so theres my two cents.

I just put up a new picture that Bungie posted in an update, it's quite obviously grey in said picture. Also, Bungie refers to him as the Lone Wolf, so I guess that's what we'll call him.

For Reference: Bungie.Net Update

They fitted the characters in the trailer in the banner and the forum banner as well, but Lone Wolf isn't in the banner.

EDIT: Team Xbox claimed that Lone Wolf is a SPARTAN-III, I'm not sure if they are trustworthy, though. Read story here.
