i was looking for a bolt action to be more specific(oops)
i might have a look anyways since they are used in the real steel for anti terrorist

m40a3s, m82s, and m14s. --Thats what is used with our military.

German swat uses psg1s. I don't think you can call that anti-terrorism. I'm sure others use it, but we don't use HK guns. Besides like, mp5s. And we generally don't use that in the military [correct me if I'm wrong]

Whats your price range on a "good" sniper. Because as I LOVE telling people. Sniping isn't cheap. A GOOD gun, will cost you GOOD amount.

And Abandonship: The WE/KWA and other brands, despite their good price they are below the quality of the TM 1911. Although it is a nice alternative. Some people do like the WE but I've heard numerous problems with it.

I just want to find one and i know about sniping not being cheap, and us anti terrorism forces use the PSG-1

the PSG 1 is not a good sniper spring gun. even with .30's or higher. ive seen plenty of TM AK-47's go further. but the dragonov and similar russian or german guns are fairly decent. just realize that the snipers role in airsoft is very boring if used at all, youre mostly used as a spotter and nothing more. probably no trigger time.

jsut trick out a AK or M16 or the newer scars are pretty good with a longer barrel.

hi, i have a few more questions.
i have decided that the next gun i get will be a sniper (bolt action).
firstly were i am buying it from link .
i can afford any rifle of there however id like to keep it under £50 (about $100) but will go over if needed.
there are 3 that caught my eye:
well l96
pros:
relatively cheap
comes with quite allot of accessories
spare magazine included
reviews say its good
adjustable to be comfortable
chronos at 470fps (btw is that about 1.3j with .2s?)
cons:
high fps may mean not suitable for all airsoft places (remember im in the uk)
included scope may not be good (acm guns never come with the best savoriest)
on and off accuracy apparently

jg bar 10
pros:
made by jg, who are apparently making high quality guns nowadays
apparently very acurate
solid build
illuminated scope which im told is high quality
upgradeable
cons:
ive been told some of these come with a few screws missing
only about 400fps with 0.2s
will probably try to do the air brake mod and break it...

bell Remington m700 (its on the second page)
pros:
gas so should have high power
should have high accuracy
for the price i would expect good quality
i love the r700
nice for display also

cons:
expensive
uses gas which costs even more
need scope which costs EVEN MORE
not seen any reviews on it
don't know how high the fps is so mite be to high
its a gas rifle so customs wont be happy (trying to get a r.i.f through uk customs is like trying to get concrete through a shredder)

id like to know your opinions on these, and also if you know anything about the m700.
of course i will consider anything on there, they are just ones that caught my eye.
thanks allot, pacbury.

oh and also you may remember me asking for advice on an aeg...
well in the end i got a jg mp5, which i put a red dot and R.I.S i also have a double magazine coming.

Get the JG Bar, many people reccomend that. Although if it were up to me, I'd say save your money for something good.

and to a1200--

Due to its high cost ($12,000-$15,000 USD per rifle) and government import restriction, the number of PSG1 in the United States is as of 2005 at fewer than 400, mostly in the hands of wealthy private collectors. Consequently, contrary to popular belief, very few American law enforcement agencies make use of the PSG1.

I dont know where youre getting this that the US uses these guns. ESPECIALLY for anti-terrorism. Because "anti-terrorism" = our military. our military = marines and army. They use the guns I listed before, with I'm sure some other ones.

the army delta force had like 57 of them in the 90s

and sniping isnt boring, it requires patience

Eh I won't argue anymore, but I can't find that anywhere lol. I don't doubt its true or anything but who knows.

And on the whole sniping being boring. It really does depend on how patient you are, and also how much you're willing to spend on it. It's not that fun sniping when you're gun only goes as far as an aeg.

it doesnt matter, im looking for something to set a goal for, all i need is one that gets out there. Just tell me what you think would be good to set a goal for

The Marui VSR-10 is a great sniper rifle that you can upgrade the heck out of. Another good one is the Maruzen APS(2)

Those are probably the best, Tanaka makes great gas ones.

The rest is based on getting upgrades for them, a good site to use is www.redwolfairsoft.com, type in the name of the gun you want and it will list the upgrades in the search. (I know its pretty obvious, but just telling you)

You can also have them upgrade it to a specific power by selecting the option on the page.

id say your best bet for a sniper with ridiculous range would be a gas one like spartan 117's

personally i think sniping would be the best position.

call out targets.
lay down
dont have to run around
if you miss they wont know whre it is coming from so it is very forgiving.
always have the sickest gun
you can sleep while other people are running around.
and the other team will take forever to find you.

Although a spring sniper wins over a gas one any day. If I could, I'd switch my sniper to spring, but it's so beautiful that I chose gas. Spring you can use in any weather, and it will usually always be consistent. It just costs more.

Not at all! redwolfairsoft has great prices, but thats mostly because its overseas.--only because lol. But they do have some amazing guns that are like 1700 dollars. They have like all the upgrades known to man. And the VSR-10 shouldn't fail you, just get some upgrades in it and you'll be set. The maximum it can take I think is like 700 fps with hardcore upgrades.

Buy airsoft.ca has them, well clones of them. The clones are quite decent.Just change a few parts like the hop up and give it a good clean up and you'll have an awsome rifle. You can also do certain mods to them to get the fps just below 500 Fps. If you want more info, go to airsoftcanada.com. Use the search function for Vsr-10 clone. The shipping might be a little high though cause it is in canada. heres a link to the gun: http://buyairsoft.ca/catalog/index.php?cPath=23_43 its out of stock right now, but it usually comes back in about a week.
